Shehzada vs. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - Box Office Battle
The Box Office battle heats up as Kartik Aaryan's Shehzada and Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania compete for audiences' attention. Will Shehzada survive the competition or will Ant-Man emerge victorious?
Kartik Aaryan's latest film, Shehzada, is struggling to perform at the box office. Despite starring alongside Kriti Sanon, the film only earned Rs 6 crore on its opening day and a marginal increase to Rs 6.50 crore on the second day. On Day 3, the film showed minimal growth of Rs 7.30 crore, bringing its total weekend collection to around Rs 19.95 crore, a disappointing result for Kartik Aaryan. In comparison, his previous theatrical release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, earned over Rs 55 crore on its opening weekend. Shehzada, which also faced competition from Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan in its fourth week, has failed to benefit from the Buy-One-Get-One-Free ticket offer, and its survival for the coming week is uncertain.
The film is an official remake of Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde's blockbuster film, Ala Vailkunthapurramaloo, which benefited from the Sankranthi festival. In addition, the film is also competing with Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, which earned over Rs 25 crore in its first three days, with Rs 17.70 crore on its first two days. Despite this, Ant-Man falls far behind Spider-Man No Way Home, which earned over Rs 79 crore in its first three days. The last Hollywood film to make a significant impact on the Indian box office was Avatar: The Way of Water, which earned over Rs 160 crore on its opening weekend.
