Cleaning Pots and Pans Without a Scrub Brush

Carbon Steel is a material commonly found in our kitchen utensils. Using Steel Wool to scrub pots and pans is a habit of many people. However, it’s time for you to give up this habit because steel wool damages the coating inside the pan, causing it to rust. From then on, the “life span” of these utensils also decreases.

In this article, we will guide you on how to clean pots and pans without using steel wool.

1. Use lemon

Take 1 lemon (yellow or green lemon is fine) and squeeze it into the pot/pan that needs cleaning. Add some water and dishwashing liquid, boil the mixture for about 1 minute, and then pour it out. At this point, you will see that the dirt and odor have completely disappeared, just rinse again with water to make the pot/pan clean and shiny!

2. Use a towel

Pour about 200ml of water into the pot/pan that needs cleaning and boil it without adding dishwashing liquid. When the water in the pot/pan starts to boil, put a towel in. Use a strong hand to hold the towel and rub vigorously to remove burnt stains.

Once the stains are removed, rinse the pot/pan with dishwashing water and scrub it with a dishcloth to remove any remaining grease.

Above are 2 ways to clean pots and pans without using steel wool. You can apply these methods to stainless steel, aluminum, or iron pots as well. Compared to using steel wool, these 2 methods are faster and more cost-effective, most importantly, they do not scratch the surface of the utensils.

Next time you clean your pots, try using these 2 methods!
