Before they worked together on the "Calm Down" remix, American singer and actress Selena Gomez said she was a fan of Nigerian afrobeats star Rema.
She revealed that before the "Rave Lorde" contacted her for a remix of "Calm Down," she first fell in love with Rema's song, "Runaway."
Gomez stated that she chose to work with Rema because she adores his personality and that she "just wanna take care of him."
