So here's a quick run down of his background, Tate was a former kickboxing champion and gained prominence when he was featured in the 2016 series of Big Brother which he got kicked off because of racist and homophobic tweets he made

Right after that he became a sensation and a sort of god-like guru online for the far-right misogynistic "Alpha male" online space, his videos are everywhere especially on Tiktok through several multiple fan accounts that drive traffic to his "Hustler's University" website where he claims he teaches how to accumulate wealth and better male-female interactions .

Tate's three Twitter accounts have all been suspended at various points. He created an account in 2021 to circumvent his prior ban, and Twitter validated it in violation of their standards. Following a permanent suspension, Twitter declared the verification to have been a mistake. Tate lost 4.7 million Instagram followers after he was permanently banned from the network in August 2022 as a part of a deliberate online effort to deplatform him. He was accused of breaking Meta's parent company's policy on "dangerous organizations and persons." Tate's account was also deleted by TikTok after it was discovered that his content broke their policy on "content that assaults, threatens, incites violence against, or otherwise dehumanizes an individual or group." Videos using Tate's name as a hashtag have received over 13 billion views.
YouTube suspended his channel for various infractions, including hate speech and spreading false information about.
In response to the bans, Tate stated that while the majority of his remarks were Largely taken out of context , he accepts responsibility for how they were perceived.
He also went on about how the Matrix was out to get him and how this is a deliberate effort to silence him, and other conspiracy theories about the Deep state.
After the bans, Tate's content was still shared via fan accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. After the bans, Tate switched to other social media platforms like Gettr and Rumble, which briefly surpassed all other apps in downloads on the App Store. This showed how much influence and the significant number of his audience.
Tate's Twitter account was reinstated in November 2022, following Elon Musk's policy of of reinstalling all banned accounts following his purchase of Twitter.
Tate tweeted Greta Thunberg in December 2022, bragging about his carbon-emitting cars and requesting her email address so he could send her additional information. On April 11,2022 the police searched two homes in Ilfov County, Romania, including Tate's estate after receiving a tip from the American embassy that an American woman might be kept there. The Romanian anti-organized crime organization DIICOT launched an investigation into rape and human trafficking after discovering two women who said they were being held there against their will. Both brothers were freed after five hours of interrogation. Later, Tate called it a case of swatting and denied any culpability.
Its should be noted that Tate did say in a video that he was moving to Romania because he claimed they had more relaxed attitudes when it came to sexual harrrasment.
In accordance with a search warrant, the police searched five residences on December 29, 2022, one of which being Tate's Ilfov mansion. Both Tate brothers, a former police officer, and a fourth unidentified Romanian person were all taken into custody and held for 24 hours as suspects. Six women were allegedly "recruited and then sexually abused" by the suspects in Ilfov, according to DIICOT. The suspects allegedly formed a group in early 2021 "with the purpose of recruiting, housing, and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content intended to be seen on specialized websites for a fee." One of them is charged with rape but police has not released the name.
Following the initial 24-hour detention, on December 30, 2022, DIICOT requested that the suspects be kept for an additional 30 days. Late on December 30, the court granted their request, and as a result, all four of them are being kept in jail by the police for an additional 30 days.
Both Tate brothers are accused of organizing a gang and participating in human trafficking.
