A couple of days ago veteran Nollywood comic actor John Okafor, popularly known as "Mr Ibu", laying in a hospital bed for unknown ailment has cried out to Nigerians for prayers and financial assistance to help him under go a better Medical Treatment. This was revealed in a video that appeared on social media platforms. 

He  said in the video, “I have been down for so many weeks, all I’m hoping for is your prayers and assistance. I’ve been in the hospital, as I speak to you, I’m still lying down in the hospital.

“The Medical director says in case his new idea didn’t work, the best idea is to cut off my leg, just see me, if they cut off my leg where will I go to? Please be on prayers for me, talk to God Almighty, I don’t want my leg to be cut off. God bless you.”

Reacting to the news of the comic actor's ailment, Reno Omokri, in a post via X, paradoxically politized Mr Ibu's condition by pointing out that Mr Ibu was a staunch supporter of Peter Obi and the LP flagbearer should shoulder the actor's medical bill.

However, reacting differently former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani wrote via his X handle on Thursday that Mr Ibu should not be disappointed. He added that he and others would get wealthy individuals to also help.

He post, “Mr Ibu is my favorite artist and Comedian. He lights up and entertains the homes of millions of Nigerians. We shall not let him down for reasons we can all collectively solve. We shall do the needful and also bring the attention of the big names to do the needful.”

This noble promise came as it's reported that Nigerian artists Davido and P-Square, along with Tunde Ednut, Obi Cubana and several others have concluded to fly Mr Ibu to the best hospital abroad for better medical treatment. He was also asked to remove the appeal video on social media.
