It was learned that the court in the United States of America have thrown away the objections of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to stay the recommended ruling of Justice Gilbert who ordered the Chicago State University to release Tinubu's academic record to the public and to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party on February 25, Alhaji Atiku.Abubakar.

The court accepted the ruling of Justice Gilbert in full. This means that Abubakar's request is therefore granted.

Judge Nancy Maldonado also gave CSU until noon Monday to release the documents, and testimony from CSU officials concluded at 5:00 p.m. (CDT) Tuesday.

It would be recalled that Abubakar searched Tinubu’s academic records to prove that he presented the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with a fake certificate that made him unqualified to run for the highest office in the land.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had said the release of the documents would cause him great harm as they were private and would not be eligible in the ongoing petition against him in Nigeria. Ironically, President Bola Tinubu lost the bid to stop the release of the documents.

Judge Nancy Maldonado also warned Tinubu's lawyers against seeking an appeal, injunction or stay of execution against her ruling. She said the court won't accept it.

As a nation, Nigeria has a fully staffed Ministry of State Security, the National Intelligence Agency, the Independent National Electoral Commission, the fully staffed Embassy of Nigeria in Washington DC and the Nigerian Judiciary, which has pronounced variously on cases involving academic qualifications of President Tinubu. However, there is no definitive conclusion as to whether or not he has the academic qualifications he claims. But all the aforementioned institutions had remained silent on it.

Although Judge Maldonado's ruling could be considered an international embarrassment, but it has been a ruling that was abandoned to prove that the judiciary must be a free institution that must not keep pace with the corrupt politicians in society.

Justice Nancy Maldonado is a judge who may have never been to Nigeria and probably never interacted with Nigerians. However, she is concerned about justice being served to the people of the country, which is why she warned Tinubu against attempting any delaying tactics in the name of appeal.
