Music fans around the world were stunned today when it was announced that Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis Presley and an acclaimed singer-songwriter in her own right, had passed away at the age of 54. 

Presley was born on February 1st, 1968, to Priscilla and Elvis Presley, who at the time was the biggest star in rock 'n' roll. Growing up with such an iconic father wasn't easy, but Lisa Marie did her best to make a name for herself separate from her famous parents.

In 2003, she released her first album "To Whom It May Concern", which went double-platinum and earned several awards. Her music featured a mixture of country and blues styles reminiscent of her father's own sound. She followed up this success with two other albums "Now What" (2005) and "Storm & Grace" (2012).

Presley was also active as a philanthropist and involved with many causes, including hunger relief efforts in Memphis where she grew up. Additionally, she established The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation in 1999 which focused on youth advocacy issues.

She leaves behind four children: actress Riley Keough; actress/model/activist Danielle; Benjamin Keough; and Harper Lockwood-Keough. Our thoughts are with them and all of those who knew and loved Lisa Marie during this difficult time.
