Plot:
Upon arguing with her best friend, Kaede Honjō starts playing a virtual online game known as the new world under the name of maple. She hated to get hurt so she think and decide to be a shield hero and max out her defense. Due to this, she gives her all points to defend but forgets the importance of other things later she finds out that she was slow due to the 0 points. she also has 0 magic power. but due to her high-level defense so doesn't take any damage and becomes the top player in the game.
With her high-level defense and with her nature of her she was able to attain various skills and accomplished many great things like skills and winning events. In this series they make guilds to take part in the events. there are three major guilds which are.

Maple Tree:
Maple:
Maple is the main character of this series. She is a medical school student in real life. she just started playing the new world game due to her good luck she was able to find rare dungeons quests and skill that many other players don't even know about. she don't want to get hurt so she max out her defense and put every point in defense whenever she gets new points.
She was the GUILD MASTER of the guild name maple tree. due to her high-level defense, she was called THE WALKING FORTRESS by other players of the game. the admins try their best to stop her from gaining new skills by adding some limits but despite that, she becomes the number one player in the game.
Sally:
Kaede's best friend is the real friend. she was the one who tell her to play the game known as the new world. she used the double dagger to attack. her special skill was her speed. she was super fast and attained the rare skill of godspeed level at one of the quests on the way.
She was a cute girl and have a kind heart. she becomes the second-best player in the game . she has a pet like a fox with uses very special skills with helping her in many ways than one.
Kasumi:
She was a samurai girl. her speed rival sally's but not the same. she is very strong and the second-best guild of the game tries their best to get her on their team but maple tree was the guild she joined. She defeated many members of the flame empress.
Kanade:
He was the male young player and part of the maple tree. he was very intelligent and he can solve any puzzle in a few seconds he have a staff that gives him a random skill daily which was a very rare item.
Kuromu:
Kumu was also a great shield hero but not equal to maple. he has a rare skill which is known as death king which allows him to not die if his hp hit zero points its hp end. he was the person who introduced maple to a blacksmith to make her the shied she want.
Iz :
A crafter also known as a blacksmith who makes weapons and full gear on request, she was the best in her work. she was the one who always make full gear for maple and other members of the guild.
TWIN SISTERS:
There are two twin sisters who try to max out their offense power similar to the idea of maple but the skills are fully opposite. she was the real powerhouse in the game later they join maple tree.
Order of the Holy Sword:
This is the guild that was made by the top player of the game before maple appears.
Payne was the guild master and this guild always comes at first place in every event or quest.
Flame Empire:
This was the guild that always come in second place in the game and this guild's master's name is Mii. she was a fire mage and was very powerful in all ways.
