5 love languages of self-love: Tips to apply them to your life


At times, loving oneself can be the most difficult thing to accomplish, yet it is imperative. Our self-Love and the standards we set for ourselves serve as a model for how we should be treated by the others in our lives.

As previously remarked by Gautam Buddha, "You can look everywhere in the cosmos for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are, but they are not to be found. You alone deserve your love and affection more than anyone else in the universe." In her Instagram post, childhood trauma specialist, coach, and educator Emmy Louseaman offered advice on how to use the five Love Languages to cultivate self-love.

1. Positive words: Consider loving yourself


• Repeat encouraging phrases every day. Thoughts come before feelings and actions.


• Recite affirmations that promote self-acceptance. Make caring for yourself a priority.


• Write down your talents and good qualities in a gratitude diary. Observe what you accomplish, are proud of, behave morally toward others and find enjoyable about yourself.


• Talk to yourself with positivity. Reduce the intensity of your inner critic and act as your best coach or cheerleader.

2.Do self-love. Deeds of service


• Make yourself some wholesome meals. Plan your meals, go grocery shopping, and put in the time.


• Make your house a neat and orderly space. Enjoy your home, even if your budget is limited.


• Schedule regular medical and psychological checkups. Take immediate action if you are experiencing any health problems. You are nothing without good health.


• Take loving care to groom oneself. For the best chance of feeling like the gorgeous person you are, dress to impress.

3. Receiving gifts: Absorb self-love


• Purchase only things you adore. Don't let anything into your house or closet that doesn't make you feel good.


• Spend money on education and information. Do you wish to enrol in a course? You might buy books or give yourself the course as a gift.


• Pick an item to explore and experience from your bucket list.


• Treat yourself to something you've always wanted to buy for yourself but have been waiting for the appropriate occasion to do it. Is this the right time?

4. Spend quality time loving yourself.


• Schedule time each day for mindfulness exercises like breathing and meditation. By using these devotions, you can connect with your higher self.


• Plan out your interests and pastimes. Making time for enjoyment and amusement is a crucial part of enjoying the gift of life.


• Prioritize getting enough rest and working out. Your physical body requires rest.


• Refrain from packing your calendar, timetable, or responsibilities.


5. Touch: Experience self-love


• Use a foam roller to massage your own body while stretching your muscles. Accept your body as it is.


• Take a warm salt bath to flush out pollutants. Let go of the tension and enjoy the love.


• Use oils or creams to moisturise your skin. Thank each body part as you touch it for everything it does for you.


• Treat yourself to a spa day, including a facial, manicure, pedicure, deep conditioning treatment, etc. Recognize that you deserve exceptional treatment.
