Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, has urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene and secure the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). In a video released on Monday, Igboho also appealed to the Tinubu-led Government to drop the treasonable charges against Kanu, emphasizing the need for his release to attend to his deteriorating health.

Igboho, echoing a shared goal of advocating for their respective regions, highlighted that Kanu is fighting for the Southeast, while he himself is advocating for the interests of the Southwest.
In the video statement, Igboho said, “Please release Nnamdi Kanu, stop politics. This guy did not do anything. Today is February 26, 2024. Release him, let him go and stay with his family. This guy is just fighting for his people in the South East like me that I am fighting for my people in Yorubaland, release him, let him go. Release Kanu. Please release him.”
As reported by GistReel, Nnamdi Kanu’s trial resumed on Monday, February 26, in a Federal High Court, Abuja. The court has set March 19 for ruling on the bail application filed by Kanu. Additionally, on the same date, Justice Binta Nyako will rule on a notice of preliminary objection filed by Kanu, urging the court not to proceed with his trial until certain conditions are met by the Federal Government.
