Kali started the construction of the temple in 1798 and it took him almost 11 years to complete the construction which we see today as the Kalighat temple of Kolkata. The temple is basically located on the banks of Adi Ganga.
Kalighat is considered one of the popular and attractive religious sports of Kolkata and the temple is well connected by bus trams or any other modes of public or private transport. The nearest metro station to the Kalighat Mandir of Kolkata is Jatindas park, the northern exit and Kalighat southern exit. The Kalighat Mandir remains open on all weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. then from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. for all the devotees to visit and pray. The temple of Kolkata is a display of one of the finest architecture of Bengal. The founder of the navratna temple was Rani rash money which was almost around 168 years ago and the temple comprises 12 shift temples, one temple dedicated to Radhakrishna and one main temple of goddess Kali. If we look into the history of the temple, we will find that the temple was almost built in the middle of the 19th century by Rani Rashmoni a philanthropic activist. Birla Mandir

The construction of the ancient heritage architecture started in 1970 and it took almost 26 long years to create the architectural beauty which is known as the Birla Mandir of Kolkata.
The construction of the architecture was done by the builder family at Ballygunge. The Mandir is specially dedicated to the avatars of Vishnu such as Rama and Krishna. The Birla Mandir of Kolkata shows the marvellous architectural beauty of the 20th century. The Mandir is based on white marble architecture which shows its dedication towards goddess Saraswati and it covers an area of 25,000 ft². The main temple statue Radha Krishna and on the left side of the temple remains goddess Durga and on the right side of the temple remains Shiva in meditation mode.

Iskon Temple

If you are a die-hard Krishna fan. Then the Iskcon temple of Kolkata is the best place for you. The Iskcon temple of Kolkata is a place of rich cultural heritage and the first temple was established in the year 1970 by Swami Prabhat. If we go into history then the birthplace of Swami Prabhat was TOLLYGUNGE Kolkata. Once you enter the Iskcon temple, the whole ambience and the environment will take you to the next level of devotion and peace. You can basically find yourself lost in the beauty and spirituality of the place. It basically follows a spiritual path mentioned in the scriptures of Bhagavad Gita and Bhagavad Purana with the aim to follow the divine lord Krishna which is considered as the supreme lord.
The founder of Iskcon Shri Prabhupada established 108 Wisconsin centers all around the world and in India. Iskcon was set up in 1970 that too in his own birthplace Kolkata at 3C Albert Road, near Minto Park. After the establishment in 1970, the 1st Yatra was also arranged in Kolkata by Iskcon in the year 1972. After that rath yatra in Kolkata has also become an annual festival.

Chinese Kali Temple

The Chinese Kali temple of Kolkata is situated in Tanger which is in East Kolkata and is also known as Chinatown as the name suggests. The place basically has some connection with China and this is the only temple that is recognized by the Chinese community of kolkata. Let's first discuss the name and the story behind the Chinese Kali temple of Kolkata.
According to a story told by Ching who has been involved with the temple management for many years suddenly a boy from a Chinese family felt sick and was not responding to any kind of temple treatment. He was then rushed to an old daughter made of two black stones under the tree which was worshipped as incarnation of the goddess Kali by the local Bengalis. After their parents offered Pooja the black stone, the boys started responding and gradually recovered. And as gratitude, the boy's parents built a Kali Mandir at the same location. The black stone and the tree are still inside the Chinese Kali temple.
Standing in today's generation of Bengali Hindu frees still worship there and chance sunscreen month mantras and it is also seen that the Chinese community or the people belonging to them go down to pray with Chinese incense sticks and burning handmade papers and showing devotion to the power exist in there or the goddess

Belur Math

The balloon mode temple of Kolkata stands as the headquarters of a Ramakrishna Mart founded by Swami Vivekananda who was the disciple of Ramakrishna Paramanshan. Paresh Nath Jain Temple

The positional Jain temple was established by Rabidas Bahadur in the year 1867 the temple comprises four main temples and the main shrine is dedicated to Shitalanath. The four main temples inside the positioner temples are Shitalanath Temple, Chandraprabhuji Temple, Mahavir Swami Temple and DadaWadi and kushal ji temple. It is one of the most important giant temples in Kolkata and is considered that lord Shital energy exists here which is the main attraction for its visitors. The Pareshnath temple of Kolkata displays an awesome view of ancient architecture with its top ceiling and mosaic temple wall. Both the interiors and the exteriors of the temple have splendid works of architecture along with beautiful coloured flower gardens and fountains. There is a lamp inside the Paresh Nath temple which burns with ghee inside the temple and is considered burning since the establishment of the temple in 1867.

Sri Bal Hanuman Mandir

Shree Bal Hanuman Mandir or Lal Baba Seva Sajan is situated in Laketown and is over 50 years old. The mandir doesn't cover a large area though it is tall and you will get to see splendid work of marble architecture, both in the interiors and in the exteriors. The Hanuman Mandir of Kolkata has two exits. Upon entering, you will get to see the main mandir or temple in which resides Sri Bal Hanuman, towards the right of him resides Ram and Sita together and towards the left of him resides Radha and Krishna. There are two temples which are adjacent to the main temple one is dedicated to lord Shiva, and the other one is dedicated to Sri Hanuman Ram and Sita.

Mira Mandir

The Mira Mandir of Kolkata is one of the underrated mandirs which is dedicated to mira. Though this place is not that much modern and extravagant as compared to the other temples. But this is a place dedicated to the worship of Krishna Mirabai and other Hindu deities. This is a place where you can find peace.
The mera mandir situation situated on Elign road is a perfect place to spend some quality time in the evening. Though this place is quite old, it is well maintained as you enter the temple, there is a large hall in which you can see all the deities placed and the most attractive section is the central section which is dedicated to Radha Krishna along with Vishnu Lakshmi Rama Sita and of course a beautiful sculpture of mira bai.
