Cross River Varsity Fresh Engineering Graduate Dies in Auto Crash Two Weeks After Her Sign-out Celebration

A fresh graduate of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), Calabar campus, Confidence Ogar Enya, has died in an auto crash two weeks after her final exam.

Confidence, who is in her 20s, graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering on September 28, 2023.

The Ikom indigene was said to have headed back to Calabar from her hometown when her vehicle had an accident along the Calabar-Ikom highway by Northwest fuel station Odukpani Local Government Area; a stone throw from Scanobo Junction on Monday, October 16, 2023 at about 7 pm.

She had taken to Facebook on September 28, to celebrate after her graduation.

“God did it… Thank you, Jesus, it wasn’t easy. #B.Eng Civil Engineering,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, friends, colleagues, classmates, and others have taken to social media to pour their hearts out over the shocking tragedy.

A friend, Rhoda Edoki wrote: “This one hit me R.I.P beautiful confidence,"

Janet Nkwa wrote: “What a cruel world. After all the suffering I can't believe aunty confidence as I normally call u, u r no more. I can't hold back my tears seeing this. Why those death have to take u now after graduation it's not fair. Confidence Ogar Enya. Rest in peace”

My mom call me as early as 3am this morning informing me about your sudden departure, I can still remember Vividly how Lulu Enuor came along with you to my kid sister matriculation we became family for life, death you re wicked and annoying.
