In a gruesome incident that sent shockwaves through Akwanga town in Nasarawa State, a yet-to-be-identified man was lynched to death by an angry mob on the morning of October 20, 2023. The incident unfolded in the A. A Koto area of the town, leaving the community in a state of distress.

The victim was accused of Stealing a motorcycle and was caught red-handed by vigilant members of the community. Instead of handing him over to the authorities for due process, the mob took the law into their own hands, subjecting the alleged thief to a brutal beating that ultimately led to his demise.

According to eyewitnesses, efforts by some Nigeria Police operatives to quell the situation proved ineffective, exacerbating the tense atmosphere. It was the Nigerian Army that eventually arrived at the scene, restoring order and evacuating the lifeless body of the victim.
