A young man named Owate Bode has been arrested by men of the Rivers State Police Command after he killed his Mother because of 20,000 Naira. This incident happened on Saturday, 13th May, 2023 in Aleto community, Eleme LGA, Rivers State.
After the Suspect was arrested, he claimed that he has spiritual problem and that was why he still stays with his mother. He said he attacked his mother with a hoe because he told her to withdraw 20,000 Naira from his bank to buy clothes to attend the burial of hid mother's friend.
According to Owate, his mother only gave him, 10,000 and hid the remaining 10,000. When he demanded for the money, she insulted him. This made him angry and hit her on the head with a hoe, which led to her death. While speaking about the incident, the suspect showed no remorse and said he was ready to die because he has had a spiritual problem for over 30 years.
The incident and the arrest of the suspect had been confirmed by the Police PRO of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, she made this known in a statement she released on Sunday, 14th May, 2023.
