Best NHL prop bets for today, 3/15 – Ryan Hartman hammers the Blues

Whether you’re in search of a way to boost your bankroll heading in the March Madness weekend or just prefer the action on the ice, we have you covered. There are just 4 NHL games on the board tonight, but no shortage of skaters. If you aren’t feeling many of the sides or totals, there’s always the player prop market to target. We’ve found 2 great spots that feature skaters that may not be household names, but we expect to have big nights.

Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Evgeny Kuznetsov over 0.5 assists (-135)

The first puck of the night drops in the nation’s capital with the Washington Capitals clinging on to their playoff hopes. The same can be said for their opponents, the Buffalo Sabres. However, the Sabres goaltending has not given them much hope to hold on to. They were able to pull off a great upset over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday night, which helped us cash our Nhl Mega Parlay. However, that doesn’t take away from the fact that they allowed 10 goals less than a week ago. That’s been the theme for them all season, and they’ve allowed the most goals per game since the start of February.

The Caps should be able to take advantage of that weak goaltending as well. They just fell to the New York Rangers last night, but poured it on the stout New York Islanders defense in a 5-1 win over the weekend. The only bummer for Kuznetsov is if Alex Ovechkin misses tonight’s game. He’s not one to miss many, as he’s still on pace to break Wayne Gretzky’s all-time goal record and has scored 4 goals in the last 3 games against Buffalo. We’d obviously prefer if Ovechkin plays, but Kuznetsov can link up with anyone against this weak Buffalo defense. He’s also 2nd on the team with 50 points, and 39 of those have been assists. We hope he can connect with Ovechkin, but this play allows it to be anyone else who finds the back of the net.

Ryan Hartman over 0.5 points (-125)

We’re headed due west for our 2nd play in one of the later games. The Minnesota Wild are looking to bounce back from an upset against the Arizona Coyotes, as they want to secure a top-3 spot in the Central Division. Tonight should provide a great opportunity to do so. The Blues have not had the season they were hoping for, and they know it. St. Louis was a big seller around the trade deadline, which means less help in front of goaltender Jordan Binnington. He’s not looked good this season; that’s evidenced by the fact that the Blues have allowed the 3rd-most goals per game since February 1.

We targeted Minnesota’s Joel Eriksson Ek the other night, so while you know he’ll get his point tonight, we still feel confident in switching things up. Hartman skates alongside Mats Zuccarello, who has 62 points through 65 games. That duo needs to step up in Kirill Kaprizov’s absence as well. Admittedly, Hartman didn’t record a point against St. Louis in the most recent meeting. However, he had multiple in each of the prior 2 and in 3 of the last 4 matchups. Now that Hartman is looking 100% healthy and getting increased ice time, we anticipate him combining with Zuccarello and Eriksson Ek for a big night from the trio.
