Best NHL prop bets for today, 3/11 – Vincent Trocheck charges through Buffalo

We have an absolutely loaded Saturday in the NHL to get us ready for the NCAAB Selection Sunday tomorrow. With that comes early action, and we’re here for it. While we aren’t targeting the first game of the day, one of our favorite player props takes place a bit earlier than usual. Before we dive in, we have an honorable mention for you. Consider taking Blue Jacket Johnny Gaudreau’s assist Prop against the bad St. Louis Blues goaltending. With that one as an appetizer, let’s check out our favorite spots.

Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Vincent Trocheck over 0.5 points (-140)

We targeted a New York Ranger in their most recent game, which cashed easily. That was Artemi Panarin’s assist prop against the Montreal Canadiens, and he went on to have 3 of them. Now we get the Rangers facing another team struggling to keep the puck out of their own net. That would be the Buffalo Sabres, who just allowed a ridiculous 10 goals on Thursday night. That too was on home ice, and they’ve allowed the most goals per game since the start of 2023. Surprisingly, these teams haven’t met this season, but the former Carolina Hurricane is more than familiar with Buffalo.

Vincent Trocheck may not be one of the household names in New York, but he’s quietly having a great season. He’s earned the right to be on the top line with Panarin and newcomer Patrick Kane. Given we just mentioned Panarin’s prowess to help guys find the back of the net and the Hall-of-Fame resume of Kane, Trocheck is set up for success. Admittedly, the Rangers have been swapping around their power play units. However, with how poor the Sabres goaltending has been, we likely won’t even need the man advantage. With so much talent surrounding Trocheck, he couldn’t be in a better position for a point tonight.

Jack Hughes over 1.5 points (+120)

Now let’s transition to a much more recognizable name. Jack Hughes has come through for us several times this season with this prop. The only time he hasn’t, we targeted his goal-scoring prop, so let’s go back to the tried and true. We mentioned that Panarin had his 3 assists against the Canadiens, and that’s exactly who Hughes and the New Jersey Devils are facing tonight. That mismatch speaks for itself, and this is a game Hughes and company certainly want to take care of before facing the division-leading Hurricanes tomorrow.

That’s something Jersey has been able to do, which includes big games from the 21-year-old. Hughes has had multiple points in each of his last 3 games against Montreal, including one just 2 weeks ago. Despite missing a handful of games, his 76 points are still among the league-leaders. Now that the Devils have found a way to get newcomer Timo Meier to skate alongside him, he has even more opportunities for points. That makes this quite a similar situation to Trocheck, and we expect strong nights from them both.
