NHL Minnesota Wild vs Dallas Stars Same Game Parlay picks: Jason Robertson shines in an upset at +475 odds

The Minnesota Wild head to Dallas to take on the Stars tonight in what very well may be a postseason matchup, if not a Western Conference Finals preview. These Central Division foes have 2 of the best young stars in the league with Wild Kirill Kaprizov and Stars Jason Robertson. We should be in for a great game, but the question remains, will Minnesota run wild or will the Stars shine brightest?

Along with our Wild vs Stars SGP, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Minnesota Wild ML (+110) over Dallas Stars

The Wild and Stars have met twice already this year and have split the first 2 games. The first was one of the most exciting of the entire season, although it didn’t look like that from the start. Minnesota jumped out to a 5-1 lead, only to have the Stars score 4 unanswered goals in the 3rd period. The Wild ultimately won 6-5 in overtime, but Dallas then won the next matchup 4-1. Interestingly enough, both teams are coming off of close games against 2 bad teams.

Dallas needed overtime and a shootout to beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2, while Minnesota was upset by the Arizona Coyotes 3-2. Neither team impressed in their first games since All-Star Weekend, which makes tonight’s game all the more intriguing. What else is surprising is that the road team has won each of their first 2 meetings. With such evenly matched teams, we’ll take any trend we can get. Along with the fact the Wild will be looking to bounce back from playing down to their last opponent, expect Minnesota to inch close to Dallas in the Central Division.

Jason Robertson over 0.5 goals (+120)

That’s right, we’re backing a Stars skater to score in a Wild upset. We mentioned the 2 young stars at the top, and they’ll likely both shine tonight. Kaprizov scored in Minnesota’s recent game against the Coyotes, while Robertson notched an assist. However, it’s the 23-year-old Robertson who has 33 goals on the year, which is the 5th-most in the NHL. For perspective, that’s even ahead of the great Alex Ovechkin. Although he didn’t score against the Ducks on Monday night, he recorded 7 shots on goal, so he’s still not shy about taking his chances.

He also wasn’t a part of the scoring the last time the Stars faced off against the Wild. However, don’t let that cause any hesitation. He scored in each of their 3 meetings prior to that, including both a 2-goal game and a hat trick. We’re not asking for a repeat of those performances and by finding the back of the net just once, we’re getting a fantastic payout targeting each team in different ways. It may not be your traditional Same Game Parlay, but this looks like the best way to play such an important matchup.
