Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is arguably the best female sprinter of all time. She stepped onto the world stage at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Fraser-Pryce unexpectedly won the 100m race and from then on, she kept on winning. 

Fraser Pryce defended her title at the London 2012 Olympic Games and became only the third woman. Her third Olympic Gold medal came in the 4 by 400m relay races. Apart from that, the sprinter has won 10 golds at the World Championships.

Elaine Thompson

Elaine is one of Jamaica’s best female sprinters. Time and again, she’s shown why she deserves her place among the best. Her medal lineup is incredible. Elaine has won five Olympic gold medals in all her events: 100m, 200 and the 4 by 400m. 

She won medals at the Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo 2020. At the World Championships, Elaine has not been as successful. She’s got only one gold, three silvers, and one bronze medal.

Kerron Stewart

 During her time, Kerron was one of the best. She specializes in the 100m and 200m. She never won an Olympic gold medal but has a silver and a bronze. Kerron has succeeded more at the World Championship with three golds and silvers each. The best times Kerron recorded were 10.75 seconds in the 100m and 21.99 seconds in the 200m.

Veronica Campbell Brown

Campbell Brown is another of Jamaica’s female sprinters who dazzled in the 100m, 200m and the 4 by 400m relay. She’s in an exclusive club of athletes who’ve won medals at five Olympic Games. Her first came in the 2000 Summer Games in Sydney then the 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 competitions. 

Campbell Brown has three Olympic gold medals in the 200m, 4 by 100m relay, and the 2008 Beijing games, three silver and two bronze medals. At the World Championships, Campbell Brown clinched 11 medals – 3 golds, 7 silvers, and a bronze medal.

Sherone Simpson

Sherone is one of the best sprinters Jamaica has produced. She’s a three-time Olympian, having won gold in the 2004 games in Athens in the 4 by 100m relay and silver medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and London 2012. Sherone has a similar record at the World Championships. 

In 2015, she won gold in the 4 by 100m and silver in the 2005 Helsinki and 2011 Daegu competitions. Her other medals came in the Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games, and the Continental Cup.

Sherone’s personal best time is 10.82 seconds in the 100m, 22.00 seconds in the 200m, and 51.45 seconds in the 400m.
