For the longest time, Wrestling has been considered to be a man’s sport. However, there are women who have proven to be competent in the sport and today, they’re some of the biggest showstoppers and stars of the game.

1. Bianca Belair

Bianca is currently one of the best black female wrestlers. Former wrestler Mark Henry gave her a starting place in the sport by helping her get a tryout. She did well and joined the NXT and participated in the Young Mae Classic.
After a losing start, Belai went on a winning streak during which she defeated Candice Le Rae and Dakota Kai among others. Later, she competed against the division’s champion Shayna Bazler and lost.
She had a couple of losses before she tasted victory again in the Survivor Series in 2019. After that, she competed in the Royal Rumble in 2020 but lost, went back in 2021 and won.
That kickstarted a series of wins for her as she has now won the WWE Women’s Championship and Smackdown Women’s Championship amongst other titles.
2. Sasha Banks

You can’t think about wrestling without Sasha Banks’s name coming up as she’s one of the best black female wrestlers now. Before she joined WWE, she was already training in Boston and won some fights there.
In 2012, she did a tryout for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and landed a contract She started out in WWE’s development side NXT. Her first title was in the category when she lifted the NXT Women’s Championship.
Three years after she joined WWE, Sasha Banks was promoted to the main roaster. She’s proven to be one of the best black female wrestlers in the game having claimed five WWE championship titles.
Sasha Banks walked out of WWE due to unclear reasons. She now wrestles in Japan in the Wrestle Kingdom in Japan.

3. Holidead

Holidead whose real name is Camille Ligon is currently signed in Major League Wrestling. She was one of the first female wrestlers in the competition’s featherweight division. She made her debut in the industry in 2013. In 2017, she competed in the Ring of Honour tournament a couple of times but has never won any.
4. Tasha Steelz
Latasha Harris is currently a fighter in Impact Wrestling. She made her wrestling debut in 2016 and competed in the Ring of Honour for three years 2017 and 2020. She never won the tournament and afterwards, moved to the National Wrestling Alliance for a year and signed with Impact Wrestling.
Steelz has won a couple of championships:
- Chaotic Women’s Wrestling Championships
- Impact Knockouts World Championships
- IWF Women’s Championships
5. Trinity McCray (Naomi)

Trinity is currently fighting under Impact Wrestling but is still remembered for her time at the WWE. She joined the organisation in 2009 and was placed in the development territories.
She was the first champion in the Florida Championship Wrestling after which she fought in the NXT. Her debut in the senior roaster came in 2020. Trinity won the Smackdown Women’s Championship and WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal.
She walked out of the company under unclear circumstances and later confirmed her departure.

6. Cameron

Her real name is Arian Nicole Andrew and she ranks 6th in our list of the best black female wrestlers right now. She made her WWE debut in 2011 but her association with the company started when she took part in a Diva Search and competed in the Tough Enough series.
She went on and competed in other major events like the Divas Championship and WrestleMania. However, she’s not amassed much when it comes to championship titles. Cameron has one Slammy Award title to her name.
7. Athena

Adrienne Reese’s wrestling career was inspired by her grandfather. She went under the tutelage of Booker T and worked on other areas of the sport.
In 2015, she signed a professional contract with WWE. Under the development category, she fought in the NXT Women’s Champions and lost several times to Asuka. After Asuka vacated the Championship due to injury, Athena who fought under the name Ember Moon won it twice.
In 2018, she was elevated to the main roster and competed in the Royal Rumble. She didn’t have much luck here either and after two years, Ember Moon went back to NXT and then went on and fought in the All Elite Wrestling and the Ring of Honour (ROH) where she currently competes.

8. Keira Hogan

Kiera Hogan is currently fighting at the All Elite Wrestling (AEW). She made her debut in 2021 and has won two tag team championships – Impact Knockouts Tag Team Championship and Impact Knockout Tag Team Championship Tournament.
Apart from that, she has competed in Women of Wrestling, World Wrestling Alliance 4, Women Superstars Uncensored and River City Wrestling. In all these, she has won titles.
