Imran Khan gets protective bail

Imran Khan, a former prime minister, was granted protective bail by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday until May 3 in a case involving claims of misconduct against senior government officials.

On the basis of the magistrate’s allegation, a case was opened against the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at the Ramana police station in Islamabad. According to the FIR, the PTI chairman used “foul” language in an interview with a member of an intelligence agency.

Imran claims in his appeal that the government was unable to uncover even “an iota of corruption” against him, and he requests that the court to drop the FIR.

Imran Khan was granted bail today for a hearing until May 3, and the court ordered him to provide surety bonds of Rs 100,000.

Earlier, Imran’s party supporters could be seen arriving at the high court in a convoy in a video provided by PTI on Twitter.
