In light of the postponed results collation, the police urge parties and supporters to uphold the law

Ahmed Ammani, the police commissioner in Enugu, has asked political parties, their supporters, voters, and locals to uphold the law in response to the collision in the March 18 governorship elections.

After a disagreement over the results of the Nkanu East and Nsukka council areas, INEC halted the collation of results and declaration of the winner of the March 18 governorship election in Enugu on Monday.

This information may be found in a statement made on Monday in Enugu by police spokesperson Daniel Ndukwe.

The police chief thanked the people for being calm throughout the polls but issued a warning to anyone who intended to use the elections as cover to cause disruption to stop immediately.

He claims that any individual or individuals discovered violating the state’s public peace will be dealt with by police in a decisive manner without hesitation.

The police statement said, “The CP additionally advises political parties, their candidates, and supporters to avoid making rash statements and utilizing social media to manufacture and peddle false information surrounding the elections.” This is done in a way that raises tension and/or encourages violence, particularly through illegal protests that violate the Public Order Act 2004’s rules.

Call the command’s control room at 08032003702, 08075380883, or 08098880172 to report criminal suspects and “anyone detected disturbing public peace to the nearest police station,” or send a WhatsApp message to 080806671202.
