IPoB: We don’t belong to the group that intends to attack banks in the Southeast

The Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPoB, claimed yesterday that there is a covert plan by criminals to target banks in the South East while posing as people searching for the new currency in order to extort money from them.

The Biafra agitation group stated that it is not a part of such a wicked and vile plot in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, captioned “There is a covert plan to target several banks in Biafra land to blackmail IPoB.”

IPoB went on to explain that it learned about the covert scheme from its intelligence division, the M-Branch, and that the criminals also claim to be followers of the organization’s leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The statement from Ipob read,

“The global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB, under the command and leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu, wish to disassociate ourselves from the secret plans to attack banks in Abia State or other States in Biafra in the name of masses looking for new currency notes,”

“Our intelligence section, the M-Branch, discovered the crooks’ plot to loot banks in Abia State and pin it on IPoB and ESN agents while also posing as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s disciples, even though they are not.

“We are warning the public that IPoB is not a component of the strategy and that we do not support or engage in illegal activity. Biafrans should hold Autopiloters—who identify as MNK disciples—responsible for any attack on a bank in the East because they have engaged in other illegal operations that are well-known to the general public.

“Despite their criminal acts, we are going to checkmate them because they have chosen to utilize the criminal schemes they have in mind to threaten IPoB and ESN agents, which is something we will not stand for. We cannot afford to take part in actions that will make our people, for whose freedom we are fighting, more miserable and in anguish.

The M-Branch of the IPoB intelligence unit revealed this intelligence material in early to warn our people to be ready since they have come up with another way to hurt them. Their contractors want them to change techniques, which will likewise fail, in response to the bogus sit-at-home order they declared on Saturday, February 18.

“We made this intelligence material public so that our people would be aware of the impending danger, which will manifest itself in a variety of ways against our defenseless folks, but they need not be alarmed since we are on the right track to tame them.

Thus, we urge all Biafrans to thwart any attempt to attack and destroy the banks in Igbo country by anyone. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, MNK, has often advised our people that venues like banks, houses of worship, schools, and markets are not appropriate locations to express their rage during protests or battles.

“Our people need to be aware that any bank that is attacked or destroyed in Biafra territory will be used by our enemies as an excuse for why our people won’t be able to access their bank accounts. While the Nigerian government doesn’t punish other ethnic groups that demonstrate or burn banks, Biafrans, especially Igbos, are subjected to wickedness and bloodshed.

“Our people must thus restrain their emotions and understand that the issues surrounding the freedom of Biafra transcend emotions. All of us want Biafra to happen as soon as possible, but we must be careful not to aid our already vile and enraged adversaries.

“Our folks must be sensible to heed IPoB’s directions. No smart Biafran should, therefore, support or participate in any attack on a bank in Biafra Land, especially in Aba, Abia State.
