Buhari should apologize to Nnamdi Kanu if El Rufai is not arrested – Reno Omokri 

Former presidential adviser Reno Omokri reacted after Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai challenged President Mohammed Buhari and insisted on using old Naira notes in the state.

Opagnews previously reported Through OpagnewsFlash that El-Rufai’s statements contradicted those of his President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday morning’s national broadcast.

Nigerian leaders had argued that the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Naira restructuring policy was effective.

Buhari said older N500 and N1000 notes remain banned, but only older N200 notes will be accepted for trading, as previously announced by Apex Bank. He asked the Nigerians to bring the old sect to the CBN and to specific locations. 

However, in a national address Thursday night, Governor El-Rufai said all old naira notes in Kaduna will remain legal tender until the Nigerian Supreme Court issues another ruling.

In a post via Instagram, Reno Omokri called out El Rufay’s actions against the Central Bank of Nigeria and broadcasts of Buhari’s treason.  

According to him, a state of emergency should be declared in Kaduna state and the governor should be removed or arrested.

The leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) said if El-Rufay is not arrested,  Buhari should apologize to Biafra’s indigenous leader Nnamdi Kanu, adding that Kaduna state governor has done the worst. 

In his word: “What Nasir El-Rufai has done in defying the Central Bank of Nigeria’s directive and President Buhari’s national broadcast, by saying that the old Naira notes would still be valid in Kaduna, is treason.

“If a state of emergency is not declared in Kaduna, and the Governor removed, arrested, and tried, then Buhari should apologise to Nnamdi Kanu and release him. Because what El-Rufai has done is a worse case of treason than what Nnamdi Kanu allegedly did.”
