About UTA
The University of Texas System (UTS) is a state university system with 13 campuses located across the state. It was founded in 1883 and has since grown to become one of the largest universities in the nation, offering more than 11,000-degree programs.

University of Texas System Tuition
The University of Texas at Arlington offers a Guaranteed Tuition Plan to undergraduate students, including those who transfer from other universities. This plan locks in the Fall 2022 tuition rate and covers 100% of tuition and fees for eligible students from families with financial incomes up to $85,000. Non-resident tuition is charged for all courses taken by non-UTA students, except for certain programs such as Accelerated Online Programs which have their own unique tuition rates. Students can use UTA’s Tuition Estimator to estimate how much their tuition will cost at UTA, while international students should add approximately $15,286 to the estimated cost of attendance for full-time non-resident tuition and fees. Additionally, specific UT Arlington students may be required to pay additional fees such as $20 per course or $25 per exam
University of Texas System acceptance rate
The acceptance rate at the University of Texas – Arlington (UTA) is 88%, making it lightly selective. Students admitted to UTA have an average SAT score between 1050-1250 or an average ACT score of 21-27.
There are no minimum requirements for admission, but applicants with lower scores may be more likely to get rejected. Additionally, there is no hard cutoff on either test and students can submit their best scores regardless of which one they choose

University of Texas System campus life
The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) offers a vibrant campus life with many extracurricular activities and programs for students to explore.
Students can live on-campus or off-campus, with six residence halls across the campus from suite-style housing to room sharing.
UTA also provides resources to help students select courses and set academic goals, as well as late-night transportation or safety escorts for those who opt to live off-campus.
Additionally, there are clubs such as band, chorus, theater groups, a campus newspaper, radio station, student government and television station, which provide opportunities for students to connect with like-minded individuals.

UTA financial aid
The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) offers over $500 million each year in total financial aid, including scholarships, grants, and loans. Students can apply for need-based or merit-based awards through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To be considered for maximum grant funding for the 2023-2024 aid year, students must complete their FAFSA application by February 14, 2023. UTA also provides a range of other forms of assistance such as student employment opportunities, work-study programs, and graduate assistantships. Additionally, UTA has an online scholarship search tool that allows prospective students to compare different types of scholarships available on campus.
UTA Scholarships
UTA offers over $30 million in scholarships each academic year for students, including merit-based scholarships such as the President’s Charter Scholarship ($8,000 per year, total $32,000 over four years) and Outstanding Freshman Scholarship ($6,000 per year, total $24,000 over four years).
The Terry Foundation also awards scholarships to Texas residents who demonstrate financial need.

All course instruction, materials, exams, and projects are delivered online; some or all will require online attendance on a specific day/time schedule noted in MyMav and on the syllabus. International students may have an additional requirement for attending campus sessions/exams
UTA admission requirements
The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) has several admission requirements for first-time freshman students, including a minimum combined Evidence-Based Reading/Writing and Math SAT score of 1130 or 23 on the ACT or a high school GPA of 3.35 or higher.
Transfer students must also have a cumulative transfer GPA on a scale of 4.0 from all colleges attended prior to UTA and a minimum of 60 credit hours remaining to complete their degree.
Homeschool students should apply as first-time freshman students, including submitting an admissions application and official homeschool program transcripts.
All applicants are required to submit official transcripts from all institutions previously attended, including high school and any colleges.
Admission is not based solely on grades or scores; the admissions committee looks for evidence of strong analytical skills and college-level writing ability.
