There are several ways to capture what’s on your smartphone screen. The most obvious is a screenshot, but sometimes that just doesn’t cut it and you need to capture more than just a funny video or still image of the moment. That’s where screen recording comes in, and it’s a great tool for giving more context to moments on your phone.
Taking a screenshot on Samsung phones is quite easy as you can just use a hotkey combination. However, you can’t do the same with screen captures, which makes the process a bit more involved. Fortunately, it’s still fairly easy and only requires a few swipes and taps.
How to use screen recorder on Samsung Galaxy phone
1. Scroll down double-click from the top of the screen to open your quick settings.

How to manage screen recording settings
Before you start typing, your Galaxy phone always gives you a few quick options. However, you can access more settings to improve your screenshots.
You can access these settings press and hold Screen recorder button in the quick settings menu. Alternatively, you can go Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder.
- Voice: Set the default audio source when recording screen. This can be set to None, Media, or Media and Microphone.
- Video Quality: Set the video resolution of your screen recordings. Choose between Low (480p), Medium (720p) and High (1080p).
- Selfie video size: Choose how big you want your selfie video to be. This can be enabled from the floating menu during screen recording.
- Show taps and taps: Choose to show taps and taps by default.
