Traffic Advisories and Diversions for Ganesh Festival in Hyderabad

As the Khairtabad Bada Ganesh festival draws near in Hyderabad, the city’s Traffic police have issued important advisories and diversions to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the celebrations. Additionally, the Cyberabad police have imposed traffic restrictions for Ganesha idol immersion processions.

Traffic Advisory for Khairtabad Bada Ganesh Festival:

The Hyderabad traffic police have advised commuters to avoid specific routes from 3 pm to 10 pm on Thursday, during the Khairtabad Bada Ganesh festival. These routes include the stretch from VV statue to Shadan College and Nirankari Junction, as well as VV statue to Necklace Rotary. Expect congestion on the roads within a two-kilometer radius of the Bada Ganesh idol. Congestion is also anticipated at various key points, such as Old PS Saifabad, Hotel Ayodhya, Iqbal Minar, Telugu Talli Junction, NTR Marg, and PVNR Marg.

Traffic Restrictions for Ganesha Idol Immersion Processions:

Cyberabad police have enforced traffic restrictions from Tuesday to Friday to facilitate Ganesha idol immersion processions. Here are the diversions and restrictions in place:

IDL Tank (Rainbow Vista T-Junction):

The road from Rainbow Vista T-Junction is closed for general traffic.

Traffic from Kukatpally Y Junction to Hitec City and Madhapur will be diverted towards JNTU via Forum Mall road.

Traffic from Hitec City and Madhapur to Kukatpally Y Junction via Kaithalapur will be diverted through Rainbow Cista and Moosapet road.

Hasmathpet Tank, Alwal:

Vehicles carrying idols from Bowenpally and other Secunderabad colonies should enter via Anjaiahnagar.

Empty vehicles should exit towards Old Bowenpally, Mosque Road, and Harijan basti.

Kattamaisamma Tank, Suraram:

Vehicles from Balanagar and Jeedimetla heading towards Bahadurpally, Bachupally, and Gandimaisamma junction will be diverted at Suraram village near the sub-registrar office.

Vehicles from Gandimaisamma, Bachupally going towards Jeedimetla and Balanagar will be diverted at Bahadurpally Junction, Dulapally village T junction, and Industrial Area Local Authority (IALA), Jeedimetla.

Additional Restrictions:

Heavy vehicles will not be allowed between Balanagar and Fathenagar bridge, from Godrej to Erragadda, Ferozguda to Godrej Y Junction, and Kukatpally Gudenmet to Narsapur crossroads.

Vehicles from Ashoknagar and Beeramguda should be diverted towards Bachupally, Gandimaisamma, and the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

Vehicles coming from Sangareddy toward Kukatpally will be diverted onto the ORR.

Heavy vehicles and buses from BHEL, Chandanagar, and Miyapur heading toward Ameerpet will be diverted at Miyapur crossroads, leading them towards Bachupally, Bowarmpet, and Gandimaisamma to take a left turn onto the ORR.

These traffic advisories and diversions aim to ensure the safety and convenience of commuters and participants during the Khairtabad Bada Ganesh festival and Ganesha idol immersion processions. Commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and follow the instructions of traffic authorities to minimize disruptions during these festivities.
