Tirumala is gearing up for a Grand celebration of twin Brahmotsavams.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is gearing up for the upcoming twin Brahmotsavams, which are religious festivals, set to take place in September and October this year. These festivals are significant for devotees who come to worship Lord Venkateswara Swamy in Tirumala.

The TTD’s executive officer, A.V. Dharma Reddy, recently held a meeting to plan for these festivals. Important officials like the district collector, SP (Superintendent of Police), municipal commissioner, and heads of various TTD departments attended the meeting.

On September 18, the Chief Minister, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, will present Pattu Vastrams (special silk clothes) to Lord Venkateswara Swamy on behalf of the state government. He will also inaugurate the Srinivasa Sethu and several rest houses in Tirumala during the festival.

During the nine-day Brahmotsavams, there will be special processions called Vahana Sevas in the mornings and evenings. The grand Garuda Seva procession will begin at 7 p.m. As part of the plan to ensure equal opportunities for all devotees, certain privileges such as special darshans for senior citizens, physically challenged individuals, and parents with infants have been cancelled. No VIP recommendation letters will be accepted during this time. The goal is to give common devotees the chance to have a darshan (a glimpse) of the deity.

As a special initiative, 1,000 devotees from SC/ST/BC (Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Backward Class) communities and fisherfolk colonies, where TTD has established temples with funds from the Srivani Trust, will be given the opportunity to participate in the Brahmotsavams. They will receive free transportation, Annaprasadam (free meals), and accommodation facilities.

To ensure the well-being of devotees, a health camp will be set up to address any health issues that may arise during the festival. Security arrangements are being strengthened to maintain safety, and there will be an increased presence of security personnel. Sanitary workers will be deployed at busy places like railway stations and bus stations to keep these areas clean and hygienic.

In summary, the TTD is making extensive preparations for the upcoming Brahmotsavams, focusing on providing equal opportunities to common devotees and ensuring their well-being, safety, and cleanliness during this important religious festival. The Chief Minister’s involvement and the special initiatives for underprivileged communities reflect the commitment to making the festival accessible to all.
