PM Modi Targets Opposition as Alliance Based on “Corruption” and “Dynamic Politics”

Taking a swipe at the Opposition Alliance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a meeting of 38 parties on Tuesday and said that “although India has a long tradition of coalitions, those formed with negativity have never succeeded”. He added that a coalition based on the “compulsion of power”, “corruption” and “dynastic politics”, is harmful to the country.

The meeting saw the participation of leaders from various parties across India, including Ekanth Shinde of the Shiv Sena, K. Palaniswami of AIADMK, Ramdas Athavale, and Chirag Paswan. The list of attending parties included the National People’s Party (NPP), Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), All Jharkhand Students’ Union (AJSU), Republican Party of India (RPI), Mizo National Front (MNF), Tamil Maanila Congress, Indiya Makkal Kalvi Munnetra Kazhagam (IMKMK), Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), Bodo People’s Party (BPP), Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), Apna Dal, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), Rashtriya Lok Jan Shakti Party, Nishad Party, United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), All India NR Congress (AIRNC), and Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt, Dhadial), among others.

In a noteworthy press conference, BJP President J P Nadda emphasized that the NDA is the perfect coalition to “serve” and “strengthen” the nation. He highlighted the BJP’s distinctive approach, stating that the party has consistently pursued ideological issues ever since its inception. Whether it’s advocating for the Ram Temple or addressing Article 370, the BJP has consistently stood for a strong and unified nation.

Union Minister Dr. Ramdas Athawale said The NDA’s goal is to make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister again and focus on the country’s development. He criticizes the opposition meeting, stating their agenda is to remove PM Modi, not work for people’s welfare. Dr. Athawale is confident that the NDA will win over 350 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

In his statement, Shinde expressed that the Opposition’s inability to decide on a leader is seen as a victory for Prime Minister Modi. He emphasized that the Opposition’s agenda seems to revolve around levelling allegations against Modi Ji. However, Shinde believes that this will ultimately strengthen the NDA, leading it to achieve unprecedented success and breaking all records in the 2024 elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed immense joy at the gathering of 38 parties in the National Democratic Alliance meeting, considering it a time-tested alliance that aims to promote national progress and fulfill regional aspirations. The meeting in Delhi witnessed a warm welcome for leaders from the BJP and its allied parties, led by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and BJP General Secretary Vinod Tawde.

He attributed the legacy of the NDA to eminent leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L.K. Advani, expressing gratitude to influential figures such as Parkash Singh Badal, Balasaheb Thackeray, Ajit Singh, and Sharad Yadav for their contributions in shaping the alliance.

Modi highlighted the inclusive nature of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), stating that no party is considered big or small within the alliance. He acknowledged that while the Bharatiya Janata Party elections secured a majority in the 2014 and 2019 elections, it was the collective efforts of the NDA that formed the government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed the NDA’s dedication to positive politics during his address to NDA leaders in Delhi. He emphasized that their approach has never involved seeking foreign assistance to oppose governments, and despite being in the opposition, they have refrained from obstructing the country’s development.

In the NDA leaders’ meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the opposition for making it their identity to verbally attack the government. He emphasized that while politics may involve competition, it should not lead to enmity. Modi highlighted that his government has always prioritized the welfare of India above political interests. He pointed out that it was the NDA government that honoured leaders like Pranab Mukherjee with the Bharat Ratna and conferred Padma awards on figures such as Sharad Pawar, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and Muzaffar Baig, despite their non-affiliation with the BJP-NDA. The Prime Minister reiterated the commitment of his government to place the interests of the nation above all else.

He asserts that the alliance enjoys the trust of various sections, including the poor, middle class, youth, women, and tribals. On the other hand, the Opposition front has adopted the name “INDIA” or Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance.

PM Modi announces that the Indian economy climbed from the 10th to the 5th global rank during NDA’s governance. He confidently assures that it will rise to the 3rd position in its third term, following the NDA allies meeting.

The BJP and its NDA allies criticized the opposition parties, stating that renaming their alliance won’t change their true nature. They emphasized that the 2024 Lok Sabha battle would be between “Bharat Mata” and the newly named INDIA alliance.

BJP IT department head, Amit Malviya, pointed out how the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) had to reinvent itself, despite its members remaining the same. He highlighted the longevity and strength of the NDA.

Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal founder, Upendra Kushwaha, labeled the opposition’s INDIA grouping as one that takes advantage of the people, benefiting themselves while harming the poor.

PM Modi criticizes the Opposition alliance, referring to it as a “conclave of the corrupt. He compares it to the NDA, calling it a “coalition of contributions and strengths.” He claims that although the Opposition coalition was created out of a need for power, corruption, dynastic politics, and concerns, the NDA was founded on common ideals and beliefs. He believes that coalitions formed with negativity and contradictions have historically not been successful in India.
