Rahul Gandhi visits unrest victims in Manipur – On his way police block his Convoy.

On June 29 and 30, Rahul Gandhi ji decided to meet unrest victims in Manipur. In Churachandpur and Imphal, he meets with representatives of the civil society and tour relief camps.

On May 3, Manipur was rocked by violence because of confrontations that broke out after a demonstration called by the All-Tribal Students Union (ATSU) to oppose the demand that Meitei needs to be included in the group of the Scheduled Tribes (STs).

Manipur has been on fire for almost two months and is in serious need of healing for society to move from war to peace. Because this is a humanitarian issue, KC Venugopal remarked in a tweet, “We must be a force of love, not hatred.”

During Rahul Gandhi’s two-day visit to Manipur, former Manipur chief minister and Congress leader Okram Ibobi Singh pleaded with the locals to uphold harmony and foster collaboration.

The Manipurese people are asked to “maintain peace, calm, and extend cooperation” during Rahul Gandhi’s two-day trip.

Police in Manipur block the convoy of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Thursday morning, Mr. Gandhi said on Facebook that “restoring peace is the top priority” following his arrival in Imphal. Only by working together can we bring peace to Manipur, which needs healing.

After that, however, senior Congressman KC Venugopal informed the media that Mr. Gandhi’s convoy had been stopped by police close to Bishnupur district as he was on his route to Churachandpur town to visit relief camps.

Cops claim that they are unable to permit us. People gathered on both sides of the roadway are waving at Rahul Gandhi. We have no idea why they have stopped us. stated Mr. Venugopal.

Heisnam Balram Singh, a senior Bishnupur police official, told ANI, “Seeing the real scenario, we prohibited him from going forward and requested him to travel to Churachandpur by helicopter.”

After the incident, several political leaders expressed their dissatisfaction on Twitter.

The Congress Party tweeted, “Rahul Gandhi was going to meet the victims of Manipur violence.” The BJP administration stopped them on the way by deploying police. Rahul ji has been to Manipur with a message of peace. People in authority dismiss peace, love, and fraternity. But they must remember that this nation will move forward along Gandhi’s path and the path of love.

Jairam Ramesh, the general secretary of the Congress, wrote in a tweet: “It is most disappointing that the Modi administration has stopped Rahul Gandhi from visiting relief camps and meeting the people outside Imphal”. He is visiting Manipur for two days in the spirit of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. The Prime Minister may choose to stay mute or inactive, but why should Rahul Gandhi’s attempts to listen to all segments of Manipur society and give a healing touch be thwarted?”

The leader of the Congress Party, Mallikarjun Kharge, charged that the BJP administration was “using autocratic methods to stall a compassionate outreach” by Mr. Gandhi.

“This is completely unacceptable and violates all democratic and constitutional standards. Not conflict, but peace, is what Manipur needs, he tweeted.

Stated by Okram Ibobi Singh as “a prime example of a dictatorship”.

Former Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh stated that the government’s attempt to block Rahul Gandhi is an example of a dictatorship.

“What is the fate of our democracy under this type of dictatorship?” This is just an example. It’s a dictatorship. We are not here to politicize. Okram Ibobi Singh told ANI, “We have only come here to meet and comfort those suffering.

However, some BJP officials have questioned the timing of Mr. Gandhi’s visit, labelling it a political stunt.
