ARIJIT SINGH TURNS 36; HERE IS HIS LIFE AND HIS PATH OF SUCCESS

The 36-year-old singer who stole hearts by singing his heart out will forever be the industry’s favorite and is none other than Arijit Singh. He is 36 now, he might age but his songs will never and they will always be heard through generations.

Arijit’s voice carries the souls of the listeners to a different heaven where the lyrics touch the heart and the heart sways. His songs are more than just words put together, they are feelings and emotions said in the form of songs.

Arijit is a singer cum music composer in the Indian film industry. Singing is Arijit’s inborn talent. Arijit was born into a Pakistani immigrant family of a Bengali Hindu mother and a Punjabi Sikh father who migrated from Pakistan’s Lahore to West Bengal.

If we speak about his skills in singing and music; we can say that they are definitely a pass on from his family, because his maternal aunt was trained in Indian classical music and was accompanied by his maternal grandmother’s singing. On the same maternal side, his uncle used to play tabla while his mother sang and played tabla. And with this influence in the family, Arijit started his practice singing at a very young age.

Arijit completed his schooling at Raja Bijay Singh High Singh following which he joined the Sripat Singh College. Arijit as a student was good at studies, and in his words, you can say he was “a decent student but cared more about music”.

His Indian Classical Music guru was the great Rajendra Prasad Hazari and Dhirendra Prasad Hazari was his tabla teacher. This today’s reputed singer was just three when he started training at the Hazari Brothers. And when he was nice, he was rewarded with a scholarship from the government for vocal training in Indian classical music.

As a student and a singer, he always idolized Bade Gulam Ali Khan, Ustad Rashid Khan, and others. At the age of 18, his guru Rajendra Prasad Hazari encouraged Arijit to leave the town and head to participate in the reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005. And that was where his musical journey started and got him into the world of music and songs.
