Manchester United's winger, Jadon Sancho, is on the verge of returning to Borussia Dortmund in a possible six-month loan deal, discussions of which were underway as of Wednesday night. The anticipated agreement could see Manchester United receiving a fee of approximately £3 million, with negotiations also addressing the proportion of Sancho's £270,000-a-week wages that the Old Trafford club will cover.

United had acquired Sancho from Dortmund for a substantial £73 million in 2021. The potential loan deal might include a clause allowing Sancho to make a permanent return to the Bundesliga side based on appearances and performance. The cost of such a transfer would be contingent on mutual agreement between the parties.

However, a return to Dortmund could result in a significant financial loss for Manchester United, considering the original purchase price. Sancho fell out of favor at Old Trafford four months ago after public disagreements with manager Erik ten Hag regarding allegations of underperformance in training sessions. Despite not apologizing, Sancho has been excluded from the United setup during this period.
