The San Francisco 49ers extended their winning streak to 3 (three) on Monday night following a 38-10 thrashing of the Arizona Cardinals, who dropped to 1-5 at home at 4-7 on the season. The win for the 49ers improved their record to 6-4, tied with Seattle, whom they have the tiebreaker over via their 27-7 win earlier in the season.

The cardinals got on the board first following a 58-Yard drive on 11 plays, resulting in  a 40-yard field goal by Matt Prater. Defenses ruled the first quarter which ended  with the cardinals up, 3-0.

San Francisco got on top to stay early in the quarter following a 9-play, 82-yard drive capped off by a 7-Yard Touchdown pass from Jimmy Garoppolo to Brandon Aiyuk. The 49ers increased their lead to 14-3 after George Kittle escaped the Cardinals’ secondary on a reception and scampered into the end zone for a 39-yard touchdown. Arizona got back into the game on their next possession, moving 75 yards, ending with a two-yard touchdown run by James Conner. A 39-yard field goal by Robbie Gould put the 49ers ahead at the half, 17-10.

Arizona’s offense was completely shut down in the second half, while the 49ers cruised on offense. They added a 39-yard touchdown run by Deebo Samuel and a 13-yard touchdown reception from Brandon Aiyuk in the third quarter, followed by a 32-yard touchdown from Garoppolo to Kittle to cap off the scoring. The 49ers dominated, winning 38-10

Jimmy Garoppolo completed 20-of-28 for 228 yards and four touchdowns. Christian McCaffrey led the 49ers with seven receptions and added 39 yards on seven carries on the ground Elijah Mitchell led 49ers with 58 yards on 9 carries

For the Cardinals, Colt McSorley combined for 244 yards passing, but each was intercepted once. Greg Dortch and the DeAndre Hopkins led the Cardinals with 9 receptions each, while the Cardinals ground game was held to 67 yards on 24 carries

The 49ers look to extend their winning streak to four as the take on the Saints in the first of three consecutive home games. Arizona will try to get back on track against the charges at home.
