Benefits of Adho Mukha Savasana: 7 Health Benefits of Practicing Downward Facing Dog Pose Every Day

Adho Mukha Savasana or the Downward Facing Dog pose is one of the most popular yoga poses. You must have seen yogis doing this asana on Instagram , You will do Adho Mukha Savasana at the beginning of your yoga class and you will end your class with it. The pose may look very basic and easy but is deceptively challenging and complex. Adho Mukha Savasana works your entire body and requires a lot of strength. This basic yoga asana has several health benefits.


Start by coming on all fours to form tabletop. Make sure your hands and directly under your shoulder and your knees are in line with your hips. Your back should be straight. Now, take a deep breath and straighten your legs pushing your hips up. Your body should be in an inverted V position and your feet should be flat on the floor. Try to touch your ears to the inner part of your arm. Hold this position and take a few deep breaths. Come back to the tabletop position and relax.
