Is The Gilded Age Season 2 Coming Soon? Know Everything

The Gilded Age, a 2022 film about the extravagant lives of New York’s old and new money families set in the late 19th century, was popular with audiences. Marble, gold, crystal, and the glitz of the Louis XVI era can be seen throughout the building; in fact, one of the dining rooms was modeled after the Salon of Hercules at the Palace of Versailles, while the ballroom was designed after the Hall of Mirrors.

HBO renewed the show for The Gilded Age Season 2 a month after the first season aired, and we’ve been waiting to find out more. We’ve finally uncovered some useful details.

When Can We Expect to See in Season 2?

Production on the series started in May of 2022, so although HBO has not yet announced a premiere date, fans may hope it will be on screens soon. Nathan Lane, who portrays Ward McAllister in the show, said that “Season 2 won’t be coming on until September” during an appearance on The Today Show. Only a few more months, if you take his word for it.

Characters That Will Be in the Cast of The Gilded Age Season 2

Eleven of the twelve recurring characters from the first season will return for The Gilded Age Season 2. Only Thomas Cocquerel, who played Marian Brook’s love interest, the extremely appropriate young lawyer Tom Raikes, will not return.

There will be many new characters this season, 13 to be precise, increasing the number of regulars to 24. Season one heavily featured the New York aristocracy and their scandalous antics, whereas season two will center on the domestic employees, with 12 of the 24 characters being servants. Names like Laura Benanti, Robert Sean Leonard, Christopher Denham, David Furr, and Ben Lamb will likely be added to the cast.

The Expected Storyline of The Gilded Age Season 2

Season 1 of The Gilded Age showed how Peggy Scott, a successful African-American lady, helped Marian stand up to her family. During nine episodes, railroad magnate George Russell and his wife Bertha were major factors in New York’s social scene.

Everything in The Gilded Age seemed to have calmed down after legal train difficulties, social debuts, a sumptuous ball, and heartache. After the long and fascinating back-and-forth of the series, the Russells have entered Fresh York’s high society, bringing fresh money to the city’s exclusive and closed-off social scene. There was enough tension in the season one conclusion to have us eager for more.

The fact that Marian and Tom Raikes had broken up was one of the juicy details revealed. There’s been no word yet on whether Marian would choose to put off love for the time being after having her heart broken in season 1 or whether she’ll turn to Larry Russell for solace. It’s all rather delicious, and we’re eagerly awaiting Marian’s next move.

Season one also revealed that Peggy’s kid is still alive despite her father’s efforts to have her believe otherwise and that the child had been discreetly adopted. The Gilded Age Season 2 will likely focus heavily on Peggy and her mother’s journey to Philadelphia in search of Peggy’s missing son.
