The wait is finally over as the Caribbean’s legendary Monkey Island series sets sail into the world of Sea of Thieves. Rare has developed the game in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. Get ready to embark on a thrilling journey as the first of three new Tall Tales, ‘The Journey to Mêlée Island,’ is now available for all Sea of Thieves players.
Sea of Thieves: The Legend of Monkey Island offers an original story. It spans across three narrative-driven and voice-acted Tall Tales released monthly. In the first segment, players will search for Guybrush Threepwood. Then, they’d confront the ghost pirate Captain LeChuck, and finally try to break a devious curse that befell Mêlée Island.
This adventure game combines elements of puzzle solving with thrilling navigation giving players an unprecedented opportunity to explore the world of Monkey Island. The journey begins at the Capsize Charters Outpost where you’ll prepare to set sail in search of the missing Guybrush Threepwood. Your destination? The enigmatic Mêlée Island. There, you’ll encounter iconic characters from the Monkey Island universe from 1990.

You can head to the YouTube channel of Sea of Thieves to get a sneak peek at the riches to be discovered during your journey. Keep an eye out for the side quests as they are usually bountiful. You can also dress as Guybrush’s arch-nemesis LeChuck and strike fear into the hearts of mightiest of pirates with LeChuck’s legacy weapons. To make things even cookier, the update introduces a Piranha Poodle that you can have as a pet.
