It’s that time of the year again! With all the Christmas cheer, love, and joy in the air, there is no better way to celebrate than with some fun, exciting, and memorable Christmas games! Whether you are hosting your Christmas party at home, school, or church, here is a merry list of 15 fun Christmas party games for kids that will provide hours of laughter and joy for all.

Easy/DIY Christmas Party Games for Kids at Home

Minute to Win It Cup Stacking

It’s a minute to win it but with a Christmas twist!

Supplies needed:

  • flat surface
  • 10 Rudolph-red plastic cups per player (Your party guests can customize the cups by painting a unique Christmas character on them).

How to play:

Each player has a minute to stack 10 cups, but the challenge and giggles arrive when the kiddies must take the cups down. They must slide the cups down as gently as Santa does when going down the chimney – diagonally without the tower falling. Remember, failure to complete this task in 60 seconds may result in elimination.

Tips/safety reminders:

  • Use plastic cups to avoid any little injured elves on the scene.

Christmas Character Guess Who

Get in the festive spirit with Guess Who with Christmas characters. With a DIY board, it’s easy to make, the fun will never end, with memories to take (there’s a Dr. Seuss rhyme for you)! This game is easy to play, and it’s perfect for kids and adults of all ages.

Materials Needed:

  • Cardboard or poster board
  • Markers or paint
  • Scissors
  • Pictures of Christmas characters (e.g., Santa Claus, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, etc.)
  • Tape or glue

How to Play/Make It:

  • Cut the cardboard or poster board into small squares (roughly 4×4 inches).
  • Draw a grid of 4×4 squares on cardboard or poster board.
  • Decorate each square with a picture of a Christmas character using markers or paint.
  • Cut out small squares of paper or cardboard to make the “guessing cards”.
  • Write the names of the Christmas characters on the guessing cards.
  • To start the game, each player chooses a guessing card without looking at it.
  • The players then take turns asking yes-or-no questions to guess the identity of their opponent’s Christmas character.
  • The first player to correctly guess their opponent’s Christmas character wins!

Tip/Safety Reminder for Parents/Guardians:

  • As with any game, it’s important to supervise young children to ensure their safety.
  • The safety of any of the art supplies used, especially the scissors, needs to be guarded to ensure that the little ones are handling them with care.

Reindeer Antler Ring Toss

Ring in the festive cheer, with reindeer antlers far and near. Toss the rings with glee, and watch the excitement grow with every victory!

Supplies needed:

  • A set of reindeer antlers (can be purchased or made from cardboard and painted)

  • A flat surface to play on (can be a table or the ground)

How to play:

  • Place the reindeer antlers on a flat surface.
  • Have players stand a few feet away from the antlers.
  • The goal is to toss the rings and land them on the antlers.
  • Players take turns tossing the rings until all rings have been used.
  • The player with the most rings successfully landed on the antlers wins!

Tip/Safety reminder:

  • Ensure that the playing area is clear of any obstacles or tripping hazards.
  • Make sure the antlers and rings are not too heavy or sharp to prevent injuries.
  • Adult supervision is recommended for younger children to prevent accidents.

Christmas Tree Bowling Game

Get ready to bowl your guests with this festive DIY Christmas Tree Bowling Game that’s sure to be the highlight of any kids’ Christmas party! With this game, your little ones can decorate their way to victory, making it the perfect addition to any holly jolly holiday gathering.

  • Empty plastic bottles (7-10 depending on how many players you have)
  • Green construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape
  • Marker or pen
  • Small jingle bells (optional)
  • Ping-pong balls (1 for each player)

How to play:

  • Cut the construction paper into strips and then fringe the strips to make them look like Christmas tree branches.
  • Next, wrap the fringed paper around each bottle and glue or tape it in place.
  • Using the marker or pen, draw on ornaments, lights, and other decorations to make each tree unique.
  • Optional: Glue small jingle bells onto the trees for a fun jingling sound when they get knocked over.
  • Set up the bottles in a triangle shape, just like traditional bowling pins.
  • Each player takes turns rolling a ping pong ball towards the trees, trying to knock down as many “pins” as possible.
  • Keep score and play as many rounds as you’d like!

Tip/Safety reminder:

As always, adult supervision is recommended. Make sure the bottles are sturdy and won’t tip over too easily. Additionally, keep an eye on younger children to make sure they don’t accidentally swallow any of the small jingle bells.
