Comedian Vir Das took to Instagram to share a video that has left people equal parts laughing and worrying. In the video, Vir Das talks about what he received after ordering bananas in the United States as a post-workout meal. No, the comedian didn’t get the wrong item, but bananas in a way he would not have thought. He even shared that he stared at the order he received for 25 minutes.

“Just wanted bananas,” wrote Vir Das while sharing the video on Instagram. In the video that is slowly gaining traction on social media, the comedian presents two bananas peeled, cut into slices and packed in two different plastic boxes. He then talks about plastic that needs recycling, packed bananas that require refrigeration which in turn needs electricity and utensils to eat them. He even points out that ‘bananas have packaging that comes from God’. And his rant about thinly sliced, packed bananas, along with his poker face throughout the video, left many laughing. Since being shared a day ago, the video has raked up more than 9.7 lakh views, and the numbers are only increasing. The share has also prompted people to post various responses. Here’s how people reacted to the video: “They also sell peeled oranges and chopped onions,” posted an individual. “I’m American and I can’t stand this kind of thing either. Especially because now the banana is going to taste stale and you don’t have as much time to eat it. And the plastic probably won’t get recycled. And worse, they probably did it to impress you and even that didn’t make anything better,” shared another. “America has plenty of grocery stores where you could get about 10 bananas for less than two bucks,” wrote a third. “It’s just the difference between Ordering bananas and Buying bananas,” commented a fourth. “This is bananas,” joked a fifth with laughing emoticons.
