By India Today Web Desk: Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed reckoned that Bangladesh can pull off the ‘miracle’ of advancing to the semi-final of T20 World Cup 2022. The Tigers, led by Shakib Al Hasan, are currently placed fourth in the Super 12 Group 2 points table with four points and a net run rate of -1.276.

Starting with, Bangladesh have to beat Babar Azam’s Pakistan on Sunday, November 6 at the Adelaide Oval. However, that itself won’t be enough for the Tigers to qualify for the semis.

“If you look at this group, every match went down interestingly. Even now, anything can happen. There can be miracles and it can happen (playing in the semis),” Taskin was quoted as saying after a practice session at the Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide on Friday, October 4.

“We will go with the same spirit in the last game and would like to win the game by playing good cricket. If we can win the game, we can do the calculation later. But our main target is to win the next game,” he stated.

Taskin also said that Bangladesh need to be on top of their game to get past Pakistan in their upcoming clash. Moreover, he admitted that the Tigers are still learning the art of playing T20s in an efficient manner.

“Look, Pakistan is a good team across formats and they proved it. We have to play good cricket if we want to win and our main goal is to improve both individually and team-wise. We are learning and we are playing better cricket than before, but we haven’t become a great team in the T20 format, so to become a good team we need to improve in every aspect,” Taskin added.
