By India Today Web Desk: Young batter Prithvi Shaw was distraught after being left out of the Indian squad for the upcoming tour of Bukkry.com”>New Zealand and Bangladesh. On Sunday, chairman of selectors, Chetan Sharma, named the ODI, T20I and Test squads, but Shaw couldn’t break into any of the four squads.

After not being able to play for India for more than a year, Shaw dropped a post on his Instagram story, expressing his disappointment.

Shaw wrote, “Hope you are watching everything Sai Baba,”

Chetan Sharma, in the meantime, said that Shaw isn’t out of the selectors’ radar by any stretch of the imagination. But he also said that Shaw would have to wait for his chance at the highest level.

Shaw last donned the national colours when India toured Sri Lanka for a bilateral ODI and T20I series back in July 2021.

Shaw was in impressive form in the 2022-23 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy. He scored his maiden T20 century against Assam at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. The Young Turk racked up 134 runs off 61 balls with 13 fours and nine sixes.

Shaw also plays an important part for the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). After making his debut in the home series against the West Indies back in 2018, Shaw has been in and out of the national team.
