By India Today Web Desk: India pacer Arshdeep Singh has said the team stands by each other in bad times after India beat Pakistan in a thrilling match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The left-arm pacer picked up three wickets as India beat Pakistan by 4 wickets in a nail-biting finish in their Super-12 encounter.

Speaking after the game, Arshdeep said the team enjoys each other’s company and stands by one another during tough times, reflecting on his dropped catch against Pakistan in the Asia Cup.

“The team atmosphere is so good that we don’t let the outside noise get in. We enjoy each other’s company, stand for each other in bad times. It really helps,” said Arshdeep.

The 23-year-old said the team is enjoying their cricket and the environment in the changing room is really good.

“There is nothing called a challenge if you enjoy your game. We are enjoying our cricket, and as I said, the team environment is really good. We very much love our game and when that happens, you enjoy the sport and there’s no challenge,” Arshdeep added.

Arshdeep said he tries to keep everything simple when asked about what he does to keep himself mentally tough for such occasions.

“I didn’t put in anything extra, I just try to keep everything simple. Mainly, I don’t think much,” said Arshdeep.

When asked about India’s tight win over Pakistan, the fast-bowler said he loved the experience as a young player in the team.

“Both the teams are playing really well. As a youngster, you really love it. It was a big ground, you had to run hard. It also challenges you physically and mentally and brings out the best in you,” Arshdeep added.

During Pakistan’s first innings, Arshdeep removed Pakistan’s in-form openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to provide a perfect start to India. Kohli and Pandya struck a 113-run partnership in the second innings to win the game for India.

The men in blue will now lock horns with the Netherlands on October 27.
