Instagram is testing a new type of feed setting

Instagram has said that it is Testing a feature that will allow users to have more control on what they see on their feed and help content creators as well as businesses have more chances of being discovered.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri said in a post on Channels that the platform is testing a new option where users can only follow people and pages that are verified.

“We’re testing a way for people to explore their Instagram feed and reels by toggling to only Meta Verified accounts. We’re exploring this as a new control for people and a way for businesses and creators to get discovered,” Mosseri said.

Current options and Meta Verified

Currently, users have two options: Following or Favorites. In the ‘Following’ option, users can see posts by those accounts they follow. This includes all verified and regular accounts. In the ‘Favourites’ option, users will only see posts from accounts they have marked favourites.

The third option will offer another way to refine feed. Choosing ‘Verified’ will show posts from only those accounts that have a blue check mark against their profiles. The options can be accessed by tapping the ‘Instagram’ logo at the top of the homepage.

Meta Verified subscription costs Rs 699 per month on iOS and Android, and users will get a blue tick on both Instagram and Facebook. The web-only subscription plan will cost Rs 599 per month.

Other Instagram features
Recently, Mosseri also announced that Instagram is testing a way to turn photos into custom stickers to use in Reels and Stories.

“You can create stickers from your own photos in your camera roll, or from eligible images you see on Instagram,” he said.

The company is also testing adding polls or votes in comments of a feed or Reel in an attempt to provide users more ways to interact on the platform.
