Black Friday deals are now well underway with huge savings across tech, gaming, fashion, and toys available. There are also some tasty discounts from mobile networks including O2 which has launched its sale.

The network is giving new and existing customers the chance to bag deals on models including the iPhone 13 and Google Pixel 6, amongst many more. This time of year is a popular one for mobile phone users to switch up their current contracts and grab a great deal on some of the best iPhone and best Android phones. Below, you'll find some highlights from O2 for Black Friday, but you'll need to be quick.

For every plan purchased between November 1 and January 31, including in Black Friday deals, O2 will also be donating 10GB of data to the National Data Bank to help tackle data poverty. It's the smaller things that make a difference and O2 has nailed it on this one.

iPhone 14: The iPhone 14 will be on many people's shopping list this year. This Black Friday, expect retailers to offer Apple's new phone for next to nothing. Already, carriers like Verizon and AT&T are offering iPhone 14 deals that offers the phone for free with trade-in and/or eligible unlimited plans. As we approach Black Friday, you can expect to see better trade-in deals, wherein you'll get a better/higher credit for your older phone. We also expect to see Apple's older phones get steeper price cuts. 

Massive MacBook deals: It's been an interesting year for MacBook deals. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros have been $400 off each at retailers like Amazon and Best Buy. Meanwhile, the 13-inch MacBook Pro M1 fell to an all-time price low of $899 back in September. Could we see an $849 MacBook Pro M1 come Black Friday? It's possible. We also expect to see more deals on the new MacBook Air M2 and MacBook Pro M2. 

Black Friday deals and next-gen consoles

Sadly, there are now Black Friday deals on next-gen consoles. Sure, there are deals on PS5 and Xbox Series X games/accessories, but the PS5 and Xbox Series X haven't seen any price cuts. That said, we do expect to see Black Friday restocks today. Retailers like Best Buy and GameStop are already experimenting with in-store only restocks and we expect these in-store events to pick up as we get deeper into Black Friday. If you prefer to shop online, no need to worry. We expect to see online restocks as well. Just be prepared for fierce competition as the PS5 and Xbox Series X will be high on many shoppers' holiday lists. In the meantime, you can still register for invite-only Sony Direct PS5 restocks planned for this month. 

Who has the best Black Friday deals in 2023?

Every retailer will hav e Black Friday deals available in November. However, if you're wondering who has the best Black Friday deals — the answer varies based on what you want to buy. For instance, Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart tend to dominate when it comes to deals on 4K TVs, laptops, and smartwatches. 

For deals on apparel and home goods, we recommend turning to stores like Macy's, Wayfair, and Bed Bath & Beyond. Home goods is a broad topic and also includes mattresses. If you're shopping for the latter, mattress manufacturers tend to offer the best and biggest discounts, oftentimes undercutting box retailers like Macy's and Amazon.

The use of the term "Black Friday" to describe the retail holiday dates back to 1961 in Philadelphia. It was used to describe the crowded pedestrian and vehicle traffic that resulted the day after Thanksgiving. By 1975, the term had gained traction and was being used outside of Philadelphia.

As a result, stores and online retailers—like Best Buy, Walmart and Amazon—are offering Black Friday Apple deals on all classes of its products, including AirPods, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, Apple TV steaming devices and MacBooks. Right now is the time to kickstart your holiday shopping while the items that are in most demand are still in stock.

Since its inception in 1976, Apple has been a company that blazes its own path. One example of this is that the brand is not known for offering Black Friday or holiday discounts on its products. Instead, Apple has a tradition of offering Apple Gift Cards as a sales incentive, while keeping its products at or near full price when purchased from Apple.Com or an Apple Store.

The Apple Shopping Event Kicks Off On Friday

Starting on Black Friday (November 26) and continuing for just four days (through November 29), Apple.Com and Apple Stores are once again offering Apple Gift Cards in varying amounts (which can be applied to later purchases) when you buy specific Apple products.

Purchase any Apple iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini or iPhone SE, for example, and receive a $50 Apple Gift Card. Meanwhile, when you purchase any Apple Airpods (2nd or 3rd generation), AirPods Pro or AirPods Max, you'll receive a $75 Apple Gift Card. A $50 Apple Gift Card is included when you purchase eligible Beats Studio 3 or Beats Solo 3 headphones.

When you strap a new Apple Watch SE or Apple Watch Series 3 onto your wrist (or pick one up as a gift), you'll also receive a $50 Apple Gift Card, while if you purchase an iPad Pro 11-inch or iPad Pro 12.9-inch, a $100 Apple Gift Card will be included.

Unfortunately, there are no really good deals on the current Apple Watch Series 7 smartwatches, but if you're willing to go with an older model, you can potentially save hundreds of dollars.

While Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 7 earlier this year, you can save a bundle by purchasing an older model of the popular smartwatch. Another Great Deal On Apple TV from Adorama

When is Black Friday?

Black Friday is officially the day after Thanksgiving (November 26). However, most retailers started Black Friday sales very early this year. For example, Best Buy kicked off its pre-Black Friday sale event back in October, with a guarantee stating that if a price of an item was discounted further between the start of the sale and Black Friday, Best Buy would refund the price difference.

Is there an Official Black Friday sale at Apple?

Yes, Apple.Com and the Apple Stores do have their own Black Friday sale, but as usual, it's more about offering Apple Gift Cards with purchases (that can be redeemed on future purchases) rather than lowering prices.

One reason to shop for certain Apple products directly from Apple.Com (or an Apple Store) is that the company offers free engraving when you purchase any iPad model, AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, AirTags or an Apple Pencil. Apple is also offering up to six months of Apple Music service for free with the purchase of eligible AirPod and Beats products.

Plus, when you make a purchase using your Apple Card, you'll receive three percent cash back, and can finance your purchases with zero percent interest over a pre-determined number of monthly installments.
