About the role

The UTS School of Computer Science is internationally recognised as one of Australia's most industry-focused leaders in research, teaching and learning in computer science, information technology and information systems.

We are recruiting for an Associate Professor - Industry Degree Academy (IDeA) to focus on the faculty's strategic objective to build relationships with industry and deepen our student's skillset through blended work/learning models. We are open to applications from industry professionals, looking to step into academia and academics that are actively engaged with industry. Utilising your industry knowledge, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Drive establishment and development of teaching and learning
  • Conducting high quality research
  • Generate high quality research publication outputs
  • Build international collaborations and networks and relations
  • Establish effective research collaborations with both industrial and academic partners

About you

As an Associate Professor you will have excellent interpersonal skills and take a leadership role, mentoring other academics. You will have demonstrated experience teaching in Software Engineering and related areas, including proven experience leading industry-related projects using technologies such as iOS, .NET, AWS.

Other requirements will include:

  • PhD in Software Engineering or a PhD in Computer Science/IT
  • Demonstrated knowledge of iOS, AWS, .NET
  • Practical knowledge and experience in applying current industry IT technologies and software engineering
  • Experience in forging links with industry partners, nationally and internationally
  • Experience in obtaining research grants and funding.
  • Strong record of research achievement / publication track record.

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $161,730 to $177,292 pa (Level D). This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
