Actor Femi Adebayo reacts as Yul Edochie tackles Igbos, insists Lagos is a Yoruba state in Yoruba land

Nigerian Actor Femi Adebayo has reacted to actor Yul Edochie’s recent statement that it is wrong to say Lagos is a no man’s land, as it is a Yoruba land and they have been accommodating.

This follows some statements reportedly made by Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Lagos state, Gbadebo Rohdes Vivour (GRV).

Reports claimed that GRV made a statement on Twitter which is tribalistic and offensive to the Yorubas.

It was reported that he said, “Lagos is no man’s land”.

Reacting to this, Yul Edochie wrote, ” “I’ve lived in Lagos since 2011. Built my house in Lagos. “Not once have I experienced any form of hate or rejection from the Yorubas.

“Anytime Yoruba boys see me on the street, they gather to greet me, and it’s all love always. And this talk flying around that Lagos is a no man’s land is wrong.

“Lagos is a Yoruba state in Yoruba land. Imagine someone saying that Anambra is a no man land, That’s crap. Anambra is an Igbo land. You can’t come into someone’s land and tell the person its now a no man land na you dey find trouble.

“Nobody can deny the fact that the Igbos have contributed immensely to the development of Lagos. Other tribes have contributed in their own ways too. And the Yoruba’s have been largely accommodating as well. It shouldn’t take away the fact that Lagos is a Yoruba land. We no dey drag ownership. Let’s kill tribalism before it kills us,”

Femi Adebayo reacted to Yul’s post, by acknowledging his post with the caption” Only The Wise Will Ponder In Sanity.
LET’S BE GUIDED!”

The post has since generated mixed reactions from Nigerians, with some supporting Femi Adebayo’s stance and others disagreeing with him.

One fan wrote, ” Lagos is a Yoruba land that belongs to all habitant from all nooks and conners. I am from Mushin&Araoloya my name is Yoruba and so is Nkeshi, Emma, Chidima, Efram , Adebayo, Ngosi etc. so long as you live in Lagos and you claim no other place except Lagos as your state you are a Lagosian. Being Yoruba does not qualify you a Lagosian. Badagry people don’t speak Yoruba. Aworians don’t speak Yoruba. But Nkechi speaks Yoruba and lives in Lagos and have all her local papers and goes to schools in Lagos and claims Lagos. She is a Lagosian. Get it? Well if you don’t get it ………”

Another one commented, “Falz and macaroni are just bait used for d Yoruba to sell dere father’s land gistlover leak d evil going on in anambra bt no single one Igbo person protest same issue dt lead to endsars in Lagos was cover up in anambra d SARS police are living freely for d state but una dey fight ur land thinking dt is d right tin to do go ahead no prob if person too go school na wahala dis guys are d problem of Yorubas u can’t see Igbo dey fight Dem self I shame for dis dere act”

Another one wrote, ” Just because the Yorubas are accommodating to all and sundry doesn’t mean we are fools. Otito Ni Oro awon agba wipe ti eru ba pe Nile,…Alajobi ni n da….Mtcheweew!”
