Enyinna Nwigwe Early Life, Childhood and Education

On September 18, 1982, Chief Enyinna Nwigwe was born in Benue state. He was born in Ngor Okpala, Imo State. His parents, both retired public servants, raised him and his two sisters and brother. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Calabar in Nigeria. He is fluent in both Igbo and English.

Enyinna began his entrepreneurial career while still in college. Enyinn used to organize fashion shows and groom models while he was still in school.

When he met veteran filmmaker and movie director, Jeta Amata, while filming a movie in Calabar, he became interested in acting.

Enyinna made his acting debut in 2004 with the film “Wheel of Change,” in which he played a character named Tony. Desmond Elliot, Rita Dominic, Fred Amata, and Stella Damasus were among the veteran Nollywood actors and stars who appeared alongside Enyinna Nwigwe.

This movie was his stepping stone into the Nigerian Nollywood industry. He continued to have a good working relationship with movie director Jeta Amata and was featured in a couple of movies he directed.

Enyinna Nwigwe first appeared in front of an American audience and a global audience in 2012, when he played Tamuno in “Black November,” a political action thriller film about the Nigerian oil-rich region “Niger-Delta.” He co-starred with Oscar winner Kim Basinger, Akon, Wyclef Jean, veteran actor Mickey Rourke, and renowned actress and producer Vivica A. Fox. Jeta Amata wrote and directed the film, which depicts human rights violations, corruption, and violence in Nigeria’s Niger Delta.

In 2016, Enyinna Nwigwe starred in one of Nolywood’s biggest movies, when starred as Nonso Onwuka in the blockbuster and classy movie, “The Wedding Party”. The movie got international attention and was premiered in the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on the 8th of September 2016.

The movie is one of the highest-grossing movies in Nollywood box-office history, grossing over N36 million in its opening three days and over N66 million in its first week.

Enyinna Nwigwe Personal Life

Enyinna was bestowed the title ‘Chi Turu Ugo 1’ (One Crowned by God) by the Logara community in Imo State on December 26, 2021, under the royal patronage of HRH Felix I. Njoku, the Ogaraku II of Logara.
The commemoration, which took place in front of some prominent sons and daughters of Igbo land, followed the activities of the Enyinna Nwigwe Foundation (ENF), which the actor established to help less fortunate members of society.
