Publicist Roger Neal announced the death of Bob Barker, at the age of 99, who was a longtime television personality and a gameshow host along with a passionate golfer. He is fondly remembered for the game show The Price is Right which he was the host of for a period of 35 years from 1972 to 2007. But true golf fans would recall his legendary role in the film Happy Gilmore.

Released in 1996, the movie was one of the most successful movies of its time starred by Adam Sandler. In the movie, Gilmore, played by Sandler, gets paired up with Bob for an event. The duo starts off well, but the protagonist slips up as he cracks under constant heckling by a member of the audience. This leads to a fight between the teammates as they slip to the bottom of the rankings.

The legendary fight scene shows Gilmore throwing in the first punch followed by Barker dishing out the rest of them to Sandler. “I don’t want a piece of you,” says Barker as he throws the first punch, “I want the whole thing.”. The funny and epic scene shows the main character getting beat up by the golfer with a series of punches after which he falls into a pond. Gilmore then tackles the old man down the hill followed by the golfer finishing the fight by saying, “now you’ve had enough… b***h”.

The majority of the scenes in the comedy movie were shot at the Furry Creek Golf and Country Club near Squamish. His sudden death led to the resurfacing of the fight scene all over the internet as many celebrities and athletes paid tribute to the legend.
