“His Signature Move”: Bloodshed at LeBron James’ Lakers Game Leaves NBA World in Frenzy

After getting tied at 1-1 in the previous games of their playoff series, the Los Angeles Lakers moved on to Game 3 on Saturday night. Their third face-off against the Memphis Grizzlies took place at Crypto.com Arena after LeBron James‘ team fell short of the Grizzlies in Game 2. The playoffs series has really been brutal. After fans witnessed Ja Morant sustain a hand injury during Game 1, this time it was a particular Lakers star who had to shed some blood during their latest face-off.

Ja Morant had to be sidelined for Game 2 after the Grizzlies star injured his hand after colliding with Lakers’ Anthony Davis in Game 1. While many were skeptical about the Grizzlies in Morant’s absence, the team pulled through and defeated the Lakers by 103-93.

Game 3 began with the Los Angeles Lakers taking a 26-point lead in the first quarter. As the game progressed to the second quarter, the Memphis Grizzlies attempted to close in on the point deficit but failed to surpass their opponents by the end of the first half. While the Grizzlies seemingly struggled to keep up with the Lakers, the second half got a little more brutal.

In the third quarter of the game, Anthony Davis ended up with bloodied lips after he hit the deck while attempting to save the ball from going out of bounds. He crashed into a couple of courtside spectators that included Hollywood actor Will Ferrell and the cameraman sitting in front of him.

Lakers reporter for Spectrum SportsNet Mike Trudell updated fans that Davis remained on the court despite bleeding after the incident. While it took a couple of minutes to get on his feet and back in the game, the 8x All-Star eventually led the team to victory.

NBA Twitter reacts to Anthony Davis’ misfortunes

The mid-game mishap drew quite a significant number of mixed reactions from the fans. Given that AD is known to be injury-prone, Twitterati was seemingly unbothered by the courtside crash. One user wrote, “Anthony Davis with his signature move: Laying on the Floor.”
