“He Just Gonna Collect a Fat A** Check”: James Harden Potentially Leaving 76ers for Epic Reunion Causes NBA World to Rage

James Harden of the Philadelphia 76ers has found himself in a similar situation from last year. Around this time last season, Harden found himself involved in a trade deal from the Brooklyn Nets to the 76ers after a disappointing stint with the East Coast side. However, his stay in Philly has yet to result in any significant results. With a 17-12 record, they currently stand as a middle-of-the-pack team in the Eastern Conference at number five.

During a recent podcast appearance, NBA insider Tim MacMahon floated the possibility that Harden might be on the move if things don’t work out in Philadelphia. Moreover, he also claimed that Houston is a surprisingly likely destination for the 2018 NBAMVP. On Tuesday, he said, “Hey, if things don’t work out in Philly, keep an eye out on James Harden back to Houston.” MacMahon’s striking declarations have left the NBA world in shambles.

The Philadelphia 76ers are currently sitting on a five-game win streak, with Harden performing at an elite level. Moreover, earlier this month, the 76ers faced off against the Houston Rockets (9-21). Surprisingly the Rockets came out on top despite the heroic efforts of Embiid and Harden, who both had monster nights.

Though a far cry from his Houston days, Harden is currently averaging 21.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 10.5 assists. His performance compliments the MVP-level showing of Joel Embiid, who is averaging a staggering 33.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 4.6 assists.

Consequently, the idea of Harden leaving a perfect situation in Philadelphia to return to Houston to play for the Rockets has left fans dumbfounded. Many fans took to social media to express their frustrations with the possible scenario. Some fans trolled the veteran guard while many highlighted the absurdity of the move.

Here are some fan reactions on Twitter:

If Harden were to make a trip back to Houston, it would be a reunion for the ages.

James Harden’s historic run with the Houston Rockets

James Harden truly blossomed into an All-time great after arriving in Houston under Daryl Morrey’s liberal offense. In 621 games with the Rockets, Harden averaged an unbelievable 29.6 points, 7.7 assists, and 6.0 rebounds. He also secured 8x All-Star selections, 6x All-NBA selections, and several scoring records.

So far, Harden’s stint with the Philadelphia has resulted in a second round exit. However, the 76ers are poised to make a deep playoff run this year with the return of star guard Tyrese Maxey. Only time will tell whether the 76ers’ ‘process’ will end with a title from the efforts of Joel Embiid alongside Harden.
