STAMFORD, Conn. – June 22, 2023 – Reigning Olympic and world 400m hurdles champion Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, two-time 200m world champion Noah Lyles, and reigning Olympic and world 800m champion Athing Mu headline NBC Sports’ live coverage of the USATF NYC Grand Prix this Saturday, June 24, at 1 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock from Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island in New York, NY.

McLaughlin-Levrone, who is expected to compete in the open 400m on Saturday, ran her first open 400m in over two years at the Paris Diamond League meet earlier this month and took second place in a personal-best of 49.71. The world record holder in the 400m hurdles, McLaughlin-Levrone could challenge Sanya Richards-Ross’ U.S. 400m record of 48.70. Two-time Olympic medalist Gabby Thomas, coming off a win in the 200m at the Paris Diamond League in a season-best time of 22.05, is also expected to contest the 400m.

Lyles, who won the 100m at the Paris Diamond League meet in 9.97, is expected to compete in his signature event, the 200m. Lyles is the American record holder in the event (19.31) and the third-fastest man in history.

Mu, who has not raced since winning the 2022 World Championship 800m final, is expected to make her season debut in New York this weekend in the 800m, where she will face a stellar field including Tokyo Olympian Heather MacLean, two-time NCAA indoor champion Sage Hurta-Klecker, and two-time 800m world championship medalist Ajee’ Wilson, a New Jersey native competing in front of her home crowd.

An elite crew of U.S. stars are expected to compete in New York this weekend, including 2019 100m world champion Christian Coleman, reigning shot put world champion Chase Ealey, 2022 4x100m world champion Aleia Hobbs, and two-time 110m hurdle Olympian Devon Allen.

NBC Sports’ Paul Swangard will call the event, joined by four-time Olympic medalist Ato Boldon and four-time Olympic gold medalist Sanya-Richards Ross as analysts. Lewis Johnson will serve as reporter.

NBC Sports will present more than 60 hours of exclusive coverage of the Diamond League this season across NBC, Peacock, and CNBC, including 30+ hours of live coverage streaming on Peacock. All 14 meets will be presented live on Peacock, with encore presentations of most on CNBC. NBC Sports will also present the 2023 World Athletics Championships from Budapest, Hungary, on August 19-27.

From September 16-17, NBC will present four hours of live coverage of the Prefontaine Classic, which will double as the Diamond League Final, from Hayward Field at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Ore. – home of the 2023 USATF Outdoor Championships. This will be the first time in history that the Diamond League Final will be held on U.S. soil.
