2023 Wells Fargo Championship odds, predictions: Picks and best bets for this week’s PGA Tour event from golf insider

Rory McIlroy is looking to win the tournament for a fourth time this week when he tees off as part of a loaded PGA Tour field at the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow. The Northern Irishman got his first PGA Tour victory on the course in Charlotte, N.C. in 2010 and also won in 2015 and 2019. Max Homa is a two-time winner and the defending champion, but his victory last year came at TPC Potomac as Quail Hollow prepared to host the Presidents Cup. McIlroy is the highest-ranked player in a Wells Fargo 2023 field that includes 40 of the top 50 golfers in the world. The top two, Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler, are using their lone allowed exemptions to skip this designated PGA Tour event.

McIlroy is the +750 favorite in Caesars Sportsbook’s latest 2023 Wells Fargo Championship odds, and four other golfers are priced shorter than +2000. Patrick Cantlay is the +1400 second choice, followed by Xander Schauffele (+1600), Tony Finau (+1700) and Jordan Spieth (+1900), in the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship field.

Before you consider any 2023 Wells Fargo Championship picks, make sure you check out the Wells Fargo  2023 predictions and best bets from golf betting and fantasy expert Sia Nejad.

Nejad specializes in betting and DFS in golf, among other sports. He’s had incredible success in the outright market, first-round leader market and betting head-to-head matchups. In 2022, he hit six first-round leaders in a 12-week span while peppering in tournament outrights throughout the year. In 2023, Sportsline debuted “The Early Wedge,” and in the first three months of the show, he hit two FRLs and three outright winners. Nejad also had a winning head-to-head record in eight of 10 weeks (including full tournament sweeps on head-to-head plays). He was up more than 70 units over that three-month span.

Now, Nejad has been digging into the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship field to find the best value and is locking in his best bets and favorites to avoid. One thing we can tell you is that Nejad is fading McIlroy, who is having an up-and-down season. In fact, the expert says “I’m not even sure he’s a deserving favorite.” The time off has likely done McIlroy some good after he missed the Masters cut, and he usually plays well at Quail Hollow, but Nejad isn’t biting at this price.

Instead, Nejad is jumping on a few underdogs, including one HUGE longshot who comes in at odds of around 50-1! This golfer is excellent with the irons and is “not afraid to rise up on the leaderboard on Sundays”, so Nejad likes his chances. If this player can pull off a SHOCKING victory in this field, anyone who backs him would cash in HUGE! You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in any 2023 Wells Fargo Championship picks of your own!

So which 2023 Wells Fargo Championship players should you target or avoid? And which golfer in the Wells Fargo 2023 field could bring a MASSIVE payday of around 50-1? … Join SportsLine right now to see Sia Nejad’s top picks for the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship, all from the expert who returned more than 70 units in a recent three-month span, and find out!
